Talk’s Kevin O’Sullivan is joined by historian Rafe Heydel-Mankoo who says he is “sick” of majority groups being “condescended and sneered at”.

Rachel Reeves insists Britain will be a safe haven for business under a Labour government as Europe turns towards populism.

Ms Reeves, who could become Britain's first female chancellor of the exchequer after this week's general election, wrote ahead of France's parliamentary election on Sunday, which is expected to see big increases in votes for both the far right and far left.

“I want investors to look at Britain and say it is a safe haven in an increasingly turbulent Europe and the rest of the world. At a time when other countries look to be tilting towards more populist, unstable politics I want Britain to be a secure and stable place where business can invest with confidence.”

Yes Rafe, we are in an era where the minority opinions outweigh those of the majority. Frightening.

The public are sick of politicians not listening to us and them thinking they know what's best for us and we are incapable of understanding what we want. It's total arrogance on their part.
