The Fiat 124 was not really a badge engineering exercise. The SEAT 124 was a license built model specifically for the, at the time, closed Spanish market. The PolskiFiat 124 was actually built by Fiat as part of their investment in the Polish car industry (the 126 was also built by PolskiFiat) but the Fiat (and SEAT) production of the 124/125 had ended by this time and the tooling shipped to Poland. All other markets were also license-built and not true badge engineered products.

I work for an Opel dealership in Germany and we sell so many the rocks-e‘s but when you are scared of the cars here because you’re in a shoebox then you know that something is wrong Also fun fact all the body panels are interchangeable with the one on the opposite side of the car and the doors open in different directions
