  • The Governor killed the National guard because they posed a threat to his authority, if they came to Woodbury people may look to them as leaders being trained soldiers

The Governor showed us that humans were more dangerous than any walker could ever be

David Morrisey's talent made a comic book villain into a real person. I enjoyed this.

The Gov was the best villain in the TWD universe, in my opinion. Negan was a close 2nd. The Gov was Negan + full-blown-psychopath. The Gov's attitude was 'if I'm not the captain of this ship, then I will sink this ship'. The most powerful scene is when he destroyed Woodbury. I think it takes another level of evil to commit genocide on your own community that you built. Not Negan, not Alpha would stoop that low. As Carl & Rick pointed out, they believed that it was possible for anyone to change, no matter how dark of a path the person was on. The Gov was an exception. He was too far gone.
  • Wonder what would have been if the National Guard unit found Rick's group at the prison first.

The Governor actually did try and run away with his new found family. But then they ran into some weird looking Walker mud wall lol I don't get why they just didn't find another route but yea he did try but it's almost like faith wanted him to take up the leadership position again. Also Ricks speech about living together with the Governor was just another one of Ricks manipulation tactics like he did with Shane and how does with Negan. He most likely would have killed him anyways but the Governor saw right through Rick and called him out hence "Liar". Can't manipulate the master manipulator

Laurie Holden (who played Andrea) publicly stated that she thought the Season 3 storyline about a romance between the Governor and Andrea was, in her words, "complete and utter nonsense."

Screw all these other spin offs, we need a 10 episode mini series of The Governor, they could take some of the source material from The Rise Of The Governor novels and remix them to fit in the spin off.
  • The Governor believes the only way to live is by killing. It’s not just about preservation—its what makes him FEEL alive. He called Rick a liar because Rick actually was one…the way he killed Shane and the Saviors in season 8 giving them “his word” proved his dark side. When the gov was out with Martinez and the bois in season 4 he came across a few corpses with their heads cut off. One said “Rapist” and the other said “Liar” I think its why he got the inspiration from a fellow killer who collects heads like himself that reinstated his belief and thats why he killed Hershel

The Governor was crazy in the head but his way of ruling was far more effective then Negans, people loved him...until he went crazy ofcourse.

Governor is my favorite villain in TWD and holy thank you for showing me what the book meant with the list of names. For the longest damn time I never fully understand what all the other names were and alot of people had some wild speculations about them that never added up. Finally I know and it makes perfect sense

Put simply the governor got power liked that power and did whatever he felt necessary to keep that power or get that power back in the end. He also was partially insane with revenge and rage and seemed ro enjoy killing whether it was people or walkers
  • Rick Grimes Is My Favorite Character In The Show, But The Governor's Story Arc In The Show Are My Favorite Seasons Of The Show.
  • It's crazy how I just watched the governor die on the show and now this is posted
  • There's a third option that I think the Governor considered, and then immediately rejected. One I think Rick might've done the opposite. Let the soldiers know that you saved one of their men, and then invite them. Having well trained soldiers, their weapons, vehicles and supplies to add to your resources could be a benefit. You got more people protecting the community, and better equipment to keep people safe, and to use for gathering supplies. Could even expand the community's borders. I think the Governor simply wanted to keep the status quo the it was. He didn't want to share power, he liked being seen as king. The reason why he wanted Rick and his group dead, was because what they did. Was an insult to his ego, his position of power. He said it to Rick's face, that keeping them around after rescuing Glenn and Maggie, after the shootout at Woodbury. Made him look weak to the people of Woodbury.
