My condolences. I also lost my father too young. I have also lost a child. Grief is a process, Ben. I came to Christ thru my grief. Allow Him to heal your heart. ALL prayers are answered. You'll see.

By the time he left, I had had enough Mulroney. But listening to the achievements, I can see he was a passionate patriot, who really wanted Canada to stay together. But, as usual, Quebec wanted special concessions that were (ARE) unacceptable to Canada. But he tried his best because he felt Canada would be worse if we did not join. (We are) And the GST came at a time when the IMF had warned Canada to get control of our debt. The gst was a way to even the tax more fairly and was the least offensive tax increase he could bring in. And his stand on SAfrica proved he was bravely on the right side of a terrible injustice. So, I have moderated my idea with some perspective- He served Canada as well as he could, he made friends for Canada internationally, he had a very optimistic, hopeful and energetic outlook. So I thank him for his service and can certainly say that we have had several that were much WORSE!

Seriously doubt you will see too many tears for him . Even less tears for Trudeau .

Perhaps I shouldn’t be, nonetheless I’m shocked and simply appalled by these hateful, rude, unnecessary comments. Whether you disliked this man’s politics or anything else about him, you could at least leave condolences of compassion for a son, daughter, wife, grandchildren whose hearts are obviously hurting. If you’re too bitter and inhuman to do that, say nothing at all. These venomous comments speak more about your character than the person you’re trying to attack. My heartfelt condolences to the Mulroney family. May your beautiful memories bring you many reasons to smile and to be proud even in your grief.

  • I never liked Mulroney Senior; compatriot of Thatcher and Reagan, gutting the working classes, selling off public resources, cutting taxes for the rich and dismantling unions and social safety nets. In addition, Mulroney Sr., took bribes of cash stuffed in brown paper bags. Perhaps he was a good dad but he was a lousy, ruthless, jerk of a politician. I was there and I remember. Mulroney Jr., got the doors to a broadcasting career held open for him due to his surname alone...so I never liked him either. Indeed, I haven't watched this segment at all - choke, vomit - just here to remind people what a disaster this privileged, self-centered, out of touch family has been. A real poop smear on Canada.

What a nice young man! Ben, I am sorry for your loss!!

He'll be forever remembered as "lyin' Brian", the guy who took bribes and then sued the RCMP when they dared investigating him for it.
  • @BudzzableRides
Can’t wait to see what the RCMP will be wearing at the service. All wearing turbins I would assume.

Brian Mulroney was the Warmest and personable of our prime minister. I liked Steven harper yes , but he was quite "Cold" . Briaan Mulroney was a very charming and charismatic individual , who had a great senses of humour and business sense . One of the first prime ministers too really see the potential Canada to offer the world . I will miss him as he was My First prime minister in myrecollection . With Signature Irish Mulroney "Chin" that you could spot a mile away , mine only pales in comparison too his. As I've said before the Shadow that cast upon our land and the impact that he had on our country will be ever lasting . Where as the Trudeaus will forever be a stain and remembered as bumbling idiots . Why I don't see why we can't put "Brain Mulroney" Memorial Statue in Queens park , in Lue of the John A . McDonald Statue that was taken down.

Having been a part of the PC family when Brian was the "boss". It was so wonderful to hear Ben talk about the time that his dad had to return to Ottawa on his way to Toronto because Ben fell off his swing. I was in Toronto attending that event that day. The memories. So many. I had hoped to be able to attend the funeral but there are so many others that want to be there. I will, however, travel from Niagara to Ottawa to pay my respect. Brian really was a great Canadian and a wonderful human being. We can all learn from him
