Wahlberg's character's friend, an experimental chimpanzee named Pericles travels through a wormhole to the Planet of the Apes. The Apes' creation myth envisions the return of the first monkey, Simos, who is scene in Pericles.

    Mark Wahlburg is just eternally catching his breath in this movie.

    I know that critics really trashed this movie when it came out in 2001. But when I watched it then as I do today I don't think it's as bad as everybody said it was. It wasn't the best interpretation but it's pretty damn good if you watch it as it's own thing instead of comparing it to the original film
