Hey everyone, sorry it took so long to respond, was away in Boston for PAX East and didn't have time to make videos, just got home. In regards to why microtransactions information wasn't included in my review, that portion starts at 16:25 in this video. But basically, my idiot brain missed the link in the review guide email that showed the image of the microtransacitons, so I thought that information was never relayed by Capcom when news broke. They did send a link with an image showing all of the microtransactions. I downloaded the main review guide PDF and thought it contained everything I needed to know, and since the PDF warned me of a second review guide containing spoilers, I decided to only look at the main review guide. Turns out there was also another link labeled "Paid DLCs Guide" in the e-mail itself that my brain for some reason glossed over. It was a stupid mistake on my part, the microtransactions should've been discussed in my review, I'm kicking myself for not seeing the link, and I apologize that the information wasn't included. Regardless of whether people think the microtransactions affect gameplay drastically or not, it's important to disclose that information so that people can make informed decisions themselves, and I failed to do that due to a brain fart of epic proportions. I can only admit that I fucked up and ensure that I triple check every review guide email next time and that something like this doesn't happen again. I'm really sorry.

When AAA game launches, it's the beta version. When it's on sale, it's the finished product.
  • @griffin7314
Why even bother adding micro transactions in a single player game ffs
  • @Law33n
Players: "we are not happy with the game!" Capcom: "so you wont buy the game?" Players: "i already bought it" Capcom: "then stfu"
  • It's a 70$ single player game, why on earth does it have microtransactions and why limit character customization at all. Makes no sense whatsoever..
  • @ikikaera3402
7:05 "They're looking into adding the feature of starting a new game" Man.. the fact that starting a new game is being called a feature is crazy.
  • I enjoy buying games a year after release for 80% off when they are actually working correctly.
  • @CrowYaeger
Can I just ask why people are pretending that Capcom hasn't been putting MTX in their singleplayer games for the last 10 years?
  • Can we all stop normalizing price hikes by saying "a full price of $70 or $80"? It's literally what these companies want us to do.
  • @Rigel_6
Shroedinger's MTX: if they are useful, why do they sell chopped things that should be included in full price singleplayer game? If they are useless, why do they even exist in the first place?
  • Youtubers are also facing backlash for not mentioning these transactions during their preview copy.
  • @kohiek
All of Capcom games have DLC... The weird thing is that the dlc for this game seems even more pointless. I kinda feel bad for anyone who buys them.
  • Why are we even discussing the value or power of these microtransactions. Microtransactions do not belong in a full priced $70 game, period. That is where the line needs to be drawn.
  • @jons787
Capcom is so sleazy, adding a ton of micro transactions that look important but are useless, and then hiding the announcement of them in a document they knew reviewers wouldn’t read.
  • This is not the first game Capcom does this shady stuff. Did they learn anything from backlash? Nah, I don't think so.
  • @Dranzel
It's like you ordered a pizza and they're charging you extra for napkings when you have a bathroom available to wash your hands. It's not gonna make the pizza less good, but why the fuck would you do that.
  • @TRINVIDEO
Denuvo is also a big problem and has banned people trying to do reviews of the game on multiple computers and people who deleted their save file.
  • @Eelanos
The thing that bothers me about this conversation is that it kinda shows that the gaming industry won, but not the way people are claiming it did? We used to fight tooth and nail so games didn't have extra content on DLCs. It was a constant fight of "Don't add DLC until after you've released the game. Don't sell dungeons. Don't sell cosmetics. Don't sell stuff that should innately be in the game." and Dragon's Dogma does just that and instead of selling you clothes and dungeons they just sell you a Deluxe Edition upgrade, that's it. Just an early game boost. And somehow nowadays people think this is worse and are saying that this is predatory but the only DLC they're okay with, the one with Mostly Positive reviews, is the option to add the DD1 soundtrack in game, which ironically is the one I think it's the worst precisely because you can't earn it in game. It's like people WANT incomplete games to pay for extra features...
