   • Origins: The Firmament of Genesis 1 (...

Join Origins host Donn Chapman as he welcomes geneticist and scientist, Dr. Danny Faulkner for, “The Firmament of Genesis 1.” The word “firmament” is mentioned 17 times in the King James Version of the Bible, in the books of Genesis, Psalms, Ezekiel and Daniel. The day two creation account in the first chapter of Genesis describes God making a firmament to divide waters above from waters below. What was this firmament? Understanding what God made on Day two can lead to some stunning astronomical conclusions.

This still beckons many questions that we will never know the answers to... but, whatever this world is and however it was made, there is one thing I do know .... God created it!!!

Most people in the past used the stars as guide, specially ships, to get to different places. We probably won't be able to understand how God really created this beautiful place, but one thing is for sure, is not the way nasa and other agencies put it. The Bible describes exactly the way God made it. I don't think He would lie to us about his creation. Why would he do that? Genesis chapter 1 explains it to the dot and I'm not about to doubt his word, not now, not ever. God bless you all..

Day 4 god places the sun, moon and stars in the expanse or firmament. It’s really not that hard to figure out where the sun moon and stars are. The tricky part is figuring out what it means to be separated from the waters on the other side by a ‘huge expanse that no man can cross’ 😐 Psalm 148 1 Praise the LORD.Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights above. 2 Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts. 3 Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars. 4 Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies.

The firmament is a solid barrier somewhere high up in the sky. When you read in Genesis 7:11 the story of the flood. You see it clearly says “The WINDOWS OF HEAVEN were opened and rain fell upon the earth 40 days and 40 nights. Then in Genesis 8:2 when the flood was subsiding, it clearly says “ the WINDOWS OF HEAVEN were closed and the rain was restrained. There is water above the earth but being held back by some sort of solid barrier/window according to the Bible. Make no mistake about it

Ok I'm done as soon as he said the ancients didn't know astronomy
  • I'm a former atheist (I made a testimony video on my channel). The toughest thing I've found is not convincing non-believers that there's a God it's convincing those that believe in the bible to believe in the bible. Knowing the Bible won't bring you salvation, living it will. Nothing above God, love him first and foremost and love one another as Jesus loved us. Seek first the Kingdom of God.

At 17:56 the sound has been cut off and there are no closed captions to read, so, the important part is lost. I would NOT put it past YouTube to do this for whatever reason.

The problem here again is that they are modernizing everything. You have to take what is written literal. If you take the time to Google firmament. It tells exactly what it is. God never changes, he stays the same. So, if he never changes neither does his creation. Stop interpreting to your idea. It's always his idea, not yours.

From the comments, I will not even watch it. Gone change FIRMAMENT to expanse. REALLY?
  • @mrsmith6763
2:40 Straight away!.....translation ? = 'let's just change the meaning at the outset and build from there"

I loved this, because I've always related waters above the firmament, to the windows of heaven being opened, during God's flooding of the earth in Noah's time, just like opening a window in your house, there is an inside and an outside of that window. We have a big God with big planning, His ways are not our ways. We have seen nothing yet. Wait until the third heavens and earth takes place! Oh what a God we have, and He is our Father, those of us who believe! Thanks for furthering my education on Creation!
  • firmament , is a tent or dome not an expanse , no one goes to space not possible !!
  • @christucker5482
When I looked up the definition for firmament it said "a vaulted dome".

JOB 37:18.... Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass? I am thinking at this moment, "get they behind me Satan".

This is a outstanding attempt to blend a little bit of Truth with NASA's lies. Great job!

"The Earth is establish and still, It shall not MOVE." - G-od. Space doesn't exist, it's water. Faulkner still believes in the evolution big bang. Earth is geocentric. Research Rob Skiba, Creationist.

In the Septuagint, the Greek word for firmament is found in the New Testament, translated into chasm, describing the barrier between Abraham's Bosom where Lazarus was and where the dead rich man was.

I believe in asking God for answers I don't understand through prayers. And hope he will reveal in a way that I have no doubt.
