Although it is really beautiful, and I am amazed at what you did with it, the best part was the one little sentence at the end about this having belonged to your father AND that is why you wanted to save the handle. I have a ball peen hammer that belonged to my grandfather and even though it needs a new handle, there is something important about being able to hold the same surface as he did. It provides a certain measure of continuity. Thank you.

I admire you for honoring the memory of your father by restoring the handle. You did a terrific job.

Great video lovely restoration. I work at a skip company and the amount of old handtools like this thrown in the skip is heartbreaking to think of the history behind them, i have to bring them home with me.
-

How wonderful that you have matured the hilt! You have created a unique instrument with your own hands.

The original could not have looked half as good. Nicely done.
-
Such a sympathetic restoration. Like the creative use of the plumbing casting to strengthen the handle. 🇬🇧

And his memory is going to stay in the family for generations to come; your originality and sense of conservativism will be appreciated by your offspring when they go through the history of this beautiful chisel. Thanks for preserving the handle.
-
What I liked is you used minimum machinery and maximum hand...Bravo!🤘🏻
-
This is probably better now than when it was new.
