I decided to purchase a Decal Remover Eraser Wheel and use some Goo Gone Automotive solvent in order to complete the task. With this tool, I removed wheel weight sticker residue with a drill attachment. Links to the products I used are below, for your convenience:

The 1 dislike is from the previous owner who scratched the wheels.
-
Steamer works well too. Used a steamer and eraser wheel for my badging on my truck and wheel weights.
-
Thank God for who ever invented the Wheel.
-
Its too bad tire installers take no care in cleaning up the double sided tape residue when the weights are removed. Time is money i suppose. Great video, still baffles the tin cans in my head that this attachment causes no damage to painted surfaces.
-
Great subject matter, Pat! I really don’t like seeing that old adhesive, but I didn’t know what to do.
-
Did that to my explorer couple months ago worked real well. Wish the shops would do that. Mine was real close to spokes. That is great video.
-
Good video. Going to show it to my local garage, attention to detail counts👌🏽
-
Alternatively, spray some brake cleaner on a piece of cloth and with that piece moist the rubber patch until you can scratch it with your fingernail, repeat the process for adhesive using a metalic kitchen sponge. Apply some anti-rust spray and polish with a soft cloth.
-
Tired of scratching people rims up ! Dealership would not get something else so I’ll do this my self !
-
I've always wondered about these things. Good to know they work!
-
Brake cleaner and a microfiber will take the foam and adhesive right off with quickness.
-
Awesomeness
-
Does it also heat up the adhesive with friction, or is it just gentle mechanical removal with the rubber wheel?
-
I'm looking for some cabinets for my garage, I really like yours, what kind are they? Can you share a link?
-
What a great device Pat. As to your wheels, were they painted right from the factory? Save the Wave👋
-
So much balance weight. You should check if wheels are not bent.
