I actually find it kind of interesting that he mentioned furries not being great with personal space, bc what I've picked up from my (admittedly limited) time in the fandom, is the opposite: people get really annoyed by others who grab tails, hug without asking, sneak up on them, etc. I should probably mention that I don't speak from firsthand experience, since I've never been to a convention, but I have watched a lot of videos that mention respecting people's space (and ofc, I personally don't like people invading my space)

I would go to a fur convention, but since one of her friends has brainwashed her into thinking that furry are people pooping litter boxes because they assume that they animals she won’t take me to one. I tried to tell her that Fries are people who are interested in adding human traits to animals, but she didn’t believe me

I just can't shake my head over how much I can relate to James. When I was a kid I also tried my best to fit with others and be "cool", while trying so hard to hide the fact I like nerdy stuff. And when I heard about those conventions of people with same interests of mine, I felt as if I am not alone in this world and that I should be happy and proud of things I like! 🙂 P.S. I am also named after my grandfather. 😋
