Welding overhead 7018 tips and tricks. Use a 6010 first sometimes that helps. But if you don’t have access to 6010 just use a 7018 on the first pass. But it is easier with a 6010 first pass

I've welded for years and always did things the same way. It's great to see another welders perspective. I pick up a lot tricks watching your videos. Your videos are good for all welders and a God send to the new welders. A lot of us older guys had to figure it out ourselves and we picked up a lot of bad habits and misconceptions along the way. Keep up the good work. I hope you get a lot of followers and make LOTS of video $$$$. Ps My friend always wanted to learn to weld. I'm now retired and live in a condo so I set up his garage with all my welding equipment. My new fav. pastime is now teaching my buddy and doing a few small projects. All we need now is a beer fridge.

In all my years , I have never seen a person use a torch like you, little or no slag and straight as an arrow , and your welding skills are awesome , a true professional , great videos , keep them coming , Frank T
  • I love your content brotha! But Don't leave us for THREE week's again! Us YouTube welders need you!! Haha. Seriously! Keep them coming.
  • ...I never got past how clean and dead nuts straight the cutting was... I've seen less smother cuts from a band saw. And free hand?!?! Such a small exact flame. Just what was needed.

Sweet retractable table, that alone is worth the thumbs up.👍👍

"Hesitate at on top then come down to the bottom" I have seen other videos on overhead and saw them do it but it's nice when you actually explain it. Thanks for taking the time for the videos.

Quality advice and real talk as always. The videos on Chris's channel will be alot more helpful than the clean shop type vids for you welders just getting into it. He shows examples of difficult jobsite situations, and has useful, practical advice to solve them. Ive been watching your stuff since the start,, you're gettin more followersby the day man keep up the good work 💪 - Travis

Welders never get any respect, tight work man, experience full throttle for sure.
  • You sir, you're a real one. One of those bosses I'd take a cut in wages to make it thru a downturn and stay w the outfit.

Thumbs up man…I roll like you. I’m full timer in a heavy , hard and nasty high volume sanitation company. I make good use of 6010 and usually always pre 7018 .👍

Nice tips! I don't have 6010 rods for a root pass but I find if you pre heat to 150° 7018 will lay like magnetic butter! Also is you want the bottom weld to look like the top.. just mess the top up also so it looks consistent
  • @luke-bookbear
Good presentation. Your videos are very helpful. I like running a 6010 first too.
