Running around Mount Longonot Volcano in Kenya

Published 2017-12-15
Mount Longonot is a stratovolcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya, Africa. It is thought to have last erupted in the 1860s. Its name is derived from the Maasai word Oloonong'ot, meaning "mountains of many spurs" or "steep ridges".

I ran around it in December 2017. It's beautiful!

  • Nice depiction of running up Mt. Longonot Kris! You did great! Just did three Loops of it (35km) today 😊 My fastest loop was 2 hours 8 minutes. No animals though and the sun was brutal. Keep Running Strong 💪 Glad you did this and still caught your flight
