Well done on the great mileage you did. And thank you for all your video coverage which provides a great resource for those of us trying to follow in your wake. I have no doubt you'll finish this again.
  • Haha - 'you're on the wrong side of the river!' Love that! Great video Kris! Was great meeting you at the weekend too. Hope to bump into you in some future runs! Felicity. X

Hi Kris, just watched your video. I'm running tp100 for the first time in 2021. Really enjoyed your video and found it insightful. Also aiming for under 24 hours but honestly be chuffed to finish. Tom (bib number 261).

Good video, thanks. Nice to see how the aid stations work. I've had 2 DNFs at TP 100 and missed the same turning across the bridge you did, luckily that was just in a training run. I was meant to have another go last year but quarantine after a trip abroad put pay to that. Good luck for next month, I've entered so might see you on the course although I'll be starting at the back of the pack.

Great video 👍 hope 2021 race went well
  • The hardest line to cross is the start. May I suggest you look at the Jeff Galloway Run/Walk Method? The amount you run versus walk is down to the individual. The keys are (a.) start employing it from the start e.g. run 50 metres and walk 50 metres (b.) Use the run/walk technique on your longest weekly run. Because N.Z ultras always involve serious hills I walk the hills, run downhills and run/walk the flats. PS: Run/walk will lessen your chances of injury and assist recovery.

Thanks for the video!! Sorry your DNFed but missing the 30 hours calculations let you minimize the damage. Very helpful as I plan my first 100 miler on a similar path in Ohio, USA in October 2021.

That’s a shame but I’m sure the correct decision. Easy race?? I am not so sure, it’s a Western States qualifier and plenty of people have DNF’d mainly because it is so flat. Hope all went well in 2021. 👍🏻
