Gears of war literally changed the course of my life. As a kid, i remember i was horrified of blood, it scared the shit out of me. I once got conker's bad fur day as a gift (it had the squirrel i main'd in diddy kong racing, what could go wrong?), and the moment i saw blood, i turned off the game and wanted to throw away the game to the garbage (my parents stopped me). Years later as a teenager i was still scared of it but at gatherings i got pushed into trying gears of war. The game was so fun i just couldnt help to keep playing it even with all the blood and gore, to the point that with time, i got used to all the carnage and overcame my fear of blood. That helped me become a doctor. I remember i still got dizzy in my first surgery with all the blood spilling everywhere, but i also got used to it. If it wasnt for gears of war i would have never even considered becoming one, so the game has a place in my heart because of it

The mass effect Saga, with Shepard, actually changed my life & my way of seeing & thinking about things, such an underrated masterpiece, it deserves so many more fans

I can honestly say that "Star Wars" changed my life back in 1977. I was 10 years old, and always have a wild, vivid imagination..... but that movie made me believe that "anything is possible". As for games..... "Team Fortress Classic" didn't exactly change my life..... but it did SAVE it. You see, my first wife was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in late 2003, she battled it for a few years, but it eventually claimed her in August of 2006. Even knowing that the end was coming, I completely lost it when she died. I spent 5 days in a drug and alcohol induced state of mind that was absolutely self destructive. After that (and I had set the limit of that time frame), I went back to work (which also helped me to cope), but upon returning home to face the reality of her being gone, drugs and alcohol were my way to cope. But also, playing Team Fortress Classic on a particular server. A server with a community that, being honest, rallied around me during my time of need. A couple members of that community actually came to my house one weekend, to make sure I wasn't going to do something as stupid as it would be permanent. They did that on their own dime, and it meant a lot to me. I am still friends with them to this day. But even those who couldn't show up in person, expressed their feelings towards me both on the forums and in the game's server. It was an amazing show of support that helped pull me out of the state of mind I was in, and let me know that I could "live again". Because a large part of me died the day my wife had. I was permanently altered, and for a long time, I didn't care if I lived or died. I did some stupid and dangerous stuff because of that state of mind. But that game, and moreover, the people I played it with, saved my life. I am forever grateful for that.

Gears or War multiplayer is what got me into games

This is how i feel about Halo. Totally understand. Halo Reach helped me through my lung transplant. When it came out I was 17.

Kirby's Return to Dreamland also actually changed my life! It somehow brought me on a way to encourage having an unbreakable character and a limitless supply of "It is what it is."

Without Skyrim, I wouldn't be here. I was in a dark place for a while, and when I decided to kill myself, I told myself I'd finish my recent Skyrim playthrough. About halfway through, I realized I was taking time to do everything in the game, and not rushing through like normal. It's what made me realize I wasn't ready to die yet, and that I still had things I wanted to do. So I can't say Skyrim changed my life, but it definitely saved it.

Gears and halo will always have a special spot in my heart. I never had online till way past the golden days of multi-player but going over to my friends house and playing splitsceen multi-player will always be a fond memory.

Thank you for this Charlie. Gear of War 1 multiplayer also changed my life. Listening to your trajectory in the game makes me think we played in similar circles. I was never great and making montages, I did one joke one with a friend but did a lot of 1v1 and 2v2 sniping that I still have on this channel. It was one of the best times of my life, I have since lost my best friend that I would play everyday with so the memories are even more cherished. I hope you keep playing, I'd love to see the community come back on that game.

Gears of war holds a damn special place in my heart, I never played the multilayer but playing the campaigns with my dad is one of the greatest memories I’ll have to cherish ❤

When I came to America , I started school in middle school here, that was about 15 years ago , Charlie taught me the majority of my English vocabulary 😂 thank you Charlie ❤️

Charlie. I remember starting to watch your videos from way long ago including the old GOW clips you had. I’m talking 2010-2011 on your channel. I’ll never forget the first video I ever watched of you playing Slenderman. Many laughs and many tears from laughing just from your content. I’m glad you ended up where you are at today on social media. Your content truly has uplifted my spirits throughout the years. Thanks for all your hilarious videos and even the content on current events. Your input is always a delight. Much love Charlie

Gears 1-3 was peak multiplayer during the Xbox 360/PS3 era

It’s so sad seeing what gears has become, straight up has not had a good launch since 2011. Crazy how microsoft ruined both its biggest series, halo and gears
  • Man, watching you play this bring back so much memories of middle/highschool. I use to bring my xbox over to my best friends and we'd rip gears, halo 3, gta 4, and halo reach like there was no tomorrow. Multiple bangers like these use to come out every year, now we're lucky if the game is even finished.

This was such a satisfying watch. I was 14 and got my first job as a grocery store bagger and cart pusher and eventually got a 360 bundle with Gears of War and it came with red and black gears COG (I still have it on my keychain today) I played countless hours of multiplayer once I got it I personally prefer solo or co-op games instead of PVP or competitive stuff but this game will always be my exception. This brought me together with new friends at the school I had just started at after moving to the area months earlier and we all played together for years. Good times.... Those were the days
