Take a couple of mins to put a bowl of water out for the birds please folks🙂

Don’t forget to take care of animals. Especially dogs, who can’t sweat except through their paws.

It's a bit of a mix today. Cloudy now, but this morning was hot. I arrived back last night from Granada Spain, it was 38 to 40 plus and dryer than here. Take care, plenty of water.
  • The duration of the hot spell this time is relatively short. Stay inside, keep hydrated, and remember to put your chocolate supplies in the fridge.

If you still like the old Fahrenheit scale, 40 degrees C converts to 104 degrees F

If anyone has dogs please don't bring for a walk as there pads on there feet can't handle the extreme heat on the foot paths & keep them well hydrated in the shade 👍

God I hope this will not happen this year. 40 Celcius was awful without air conditioning.

Thank you. Windows closed by day open at night keep my curtains close through the day and drink lots of water. Got it 👍🏻🙏🏻

If you can, put shades on the OUTSIDE of your windows. This blocks 80% of heat gain, but curtains and blinds only stop 30%. Tape old sheets or newspaper to the outside of any windows which let Sun in.

No mention of pets or wildlife 😡

& yet you'll still get the runners out in 40 degrees & collapsing wanting a ambulance! 😁
  • So I guess most people will go to the beach 🤣🤣🤣 I'll be at home in the dark with a fan with a lot of water and maybe taking some showers with my clothes on !

Its important to remember electrolytes, drinking water alone won't keep you hydrated. Drinking too much though will cause you to dilute your sodium levels too much and can cause hyponatremia which is just as bad. Shade is your friend.

As a Texan it should not get to where it is in Texas it should not be 100° Fahrenheit or 40° Celsius for you civilized folks. I swear right now the apocalypse is coming

This is unprecedented. To all the idiots saying ‘oh snowflake Britain, this used to be called nice weather’ etc….there is a huge difference between 30c and 40c. It’s never been this hot, ever. Once the air temperature gets above your body temperature, the health risks are massively increased. Not to mention infrastructure/potential power issues. In a country with limited AC and homes insulated to keep warm, it’s a very dangerous mix to have for 2 days straight.
