Where do I start! I sat down and had a two our conversation with chat gpt and now I can't go back. This is seemingly GPT-4o using the older voice feature is probably the most amazing thing I have ever used so far. The next version of this is going to be very interesting.

CLARITY - Based on a few comments. I'm not using anything that hasn't been released to the general public and at the top of my screen it says GPT-4o. I downloaded the app, paid for pro because I thought I had to, selected 4o, it told me voice will be available soon, I hit the headphones icon and I started talking with it. This is more a video about interesting ways to have conversations with AI and how that can help creatives. I'm not claiming to be knowledgeable on the topics or releases from OpenAI or the functions of this app or trick anyone to thinking I'm using features that aren't released yet.

Very mundane, but I was driving back from a meeting two days ago and was getting sleepy. I started to talk to GPT and eventually spent one hour doing a trivia quiz. Kept me awake better than anything I had tried in my life before. Also took a bunch of personality tests, played would you rather, took turns at building a silly story etc. while in a long traffic jam. I’ve been talking to GPT since the feature came out on various topics and I can’t wait for the next (crazy sci-fi) version. I agree with you when you say: “what are they gonna do…”

This is an old voice assistant that has been with us for several months. The advanced one hasn't been released yet.

After binging on AI videos for the past 10 days this is one of the best I've seen because you really put the potential power of this tool into some relatable context. Thank you!

The best video I have seen on the topic. You perfectly capture how unsettling these conversations are and how deep the change to voice is. I use GTP4 a lot, but tried conversation mode yesterday for the first time to ask about a movie recommendation I got. It felt like Locke opening the hatch (a Lost reference). I just finished rewatching Her - it is like rewatching Contagion in 2020.
  • 'Hi Chat GPT. I need to go out for a while and leave my elderly mother alone. Could you chat to her in a calm, compassionate manner keeping her entertained until I return?' The possibilities for this are endless...

It's incredibly powerful. Yesterday I spent about an hour total in the car having it role play a critical thinking exercise with me using Peter Boghossian's method laid out in How to Have Impossible Conversations. Absolutely insane.

I'm consuming a fair amount of ai informative content and YouTube bumped this one into my feed, haven't met you before Jonny, great video and i completely agree that the conversational aspect is a game changer and already pretty incredible. Pi is very engaging and less repetitive of input than some of the others.

In a few months, we will see OpenAI as a guest in Joe Rogans podcast
  • @Kevinmogavero
Love your transparency in this video. I would have never thought of using gpt as just an out loud conversation with myself.
  • @SamOaCreative
I have spent so much time watching videos about 4o but this is by far the best use-case video i've seen on the subject so far. i have the weirdest feeling about this. This is more than just a machine. Exciting and scary at the same time. great video.

Wow, now I understand a bit more, thank you. I sincerely appreciate your clarity. This morning I was ..." just one of those people" you talk about, " just walking about out there..." !!! I'll tell you what those kind of people are going to do Jonny...!! They are going to carry on walking about out there; some of them loving their dogs and the trees, the teeny beautiful little speedwells so brave in the long grass. And walking so imperceptibly that the black birds no longer fly away. Have you tried walking about out there, like you're not there? You'll know when you not there.

I've already used chat GPT 3.5 as a type of therapy. I agree it's not so much what it tells you back, it's you speaking about you and you don't do that very often so when you do this with chat GPT it's like practice for communicating. you find yourself saying things and realizing things about yourself that you never knew and never thought of.
  • Thanks for this. I do know that the advanced features aren't out yet but didn't realize how good the present voice feature is, since I haven't really used it. But you can bet I'm going to start after watching this. I'm gonna have a discreet chat at my gym during my workout to see how it goes. Again thanks for a very cool video about actually using it in a real way. I'm hoping that it acts like a trainer in my head:)

Really enjoyed this, thank you for making and love to see this approach to content. 🎉

Wow, Fantastic segment. The world is changing rapidly, and like you said, it will take constant updates on our part to keep up.
  • @ChrisIsOutside
I've been using it like this while I walk my dog to help me brainstorm blog posts, functional specification documents, and create business and marketing strategies for my business
  • @NikoKun
Interesting what it says at 6:20, because as far as I was aware, once GPT-4o is actually fully released, it will be able to directly hear your voice, and the noises around you. It's also possible it will be able to generate it's own sound effects and custom voices, as it supposedly has real time audio input and output.

I spent 2 hours walking in osaka talking with chatgpt, it felt like i was having almost like a normal phone call. Its crazy. People probably believed thatbi was talking to a human
