My dad gave me the piece of wisdom that has set the standard for how I tried to raise my son: "Where there is no investment, there is no incentive or knowledge for what it took to get a thing. Giving children everything they want because they simply want it, will create ENTITLED and Lazy humans". Me being a single parent did not afford me the privilege to get caught up with all the things my son wanted. But I can say that God assigned us a wonderful ANGEL CREW that came through for us with the needed things and some exceedingly abundantly above.....And I'm so thankful for them!! I raised my son to know that he must invest some time, do some chores, have a good attitude, and even then he would not get everything he wants. And nobody "owes" him anything. So thank you both for this topic because it was and is a necessary conversation.

Chance you are absolutely right about it. If you didn’t work for it then your appreciation is different. My husband went through the pain starting a cleaning company and now 25 years later still being blessed.

I haven't even finished watching, but I had to stop and say that Chance just said a whole word when he said "I'm not going to let you bully me with my heart." That was profound!

I think kids are entitled because their parents spoil them.it is not what we leave to our children that makes them great. It is what we leave in our children that makes them great.Give them wisdom

All pain has a purpose. Nothing that happens to us is for nothing. It's either a lesson learned to make us bitter or better. Hopefully BETTER!!!

All the best moments of my life were after going through pain, trials and tribulations. Kids, some vacations, moving, lots of big stuff. I always say when I go through rough times it means something amazing is about to happen.

I think anything uncomfortable comes with a little bit of pain because we’re being stretched outside of our comfort zone!!

I only have my experience. Married. 41 years. My son will be 40 and he feels entitled because of daddy. Dad cannot let him go. And now he’s a menace to me and society. Mental illness. And really holds his dad hostage to his needs. Which makes me in the line for stress. It’s disgusting. We teach our kids how to treat us. And how to be responsible or NOT. Can someone please send me a one way ticket to Europe. Actually we are a retired military family and I lived there for years. I should have stayed. 😂🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 For real.
