Oakland’s leadership can turn things around by being more accountable and accepting responsibility. Stop blaming things on the past, you told the people you could handle this problem and clean up this mess. Now she see it’s not easy to do it. Get on Newsom to get you some help and get a new police chief now. People getting robbed just waiting in their car at a red light, they’re following them home..
  • See how cleverly she phrases it - "It's not safe in that area." In fact, safety is a concern across all areas of Oakland.

It’s becoming a failed city in a down cycle where the shoppers are leaving because of crime which means less taxes for the city which has less to spend on police which means more crime without repercussions .

I wish Bishop Bob Jackson would run for Mayor. He actually cares about Oakland and speaks the truth. I'm tired of the Mayor talking about "reviving" downtown when Oakland has streets with rampant crime, chop shops, gun violence and garbage everywhere. You're not going to "revive" anything if the entire community is locked in their houses afraid to go outside. It's like the Mayor and DA are just out to lunch with no common sense.

Wow. At 0:10, that picture of the closed Denny's restaurant - not more than 3 weeks after closing? That place is trashed. 5 to 1 odds it gets burned to the ground by the end of this month.

They can have maps to all the places you can get robbed, or will get robbed. Plus, you can visit all of the shell buildings of shuttered businesses that left because of the uncontrolled crime. Genius idea Mayor!

I liked everything that Bishop Bob Jackson said except the one about the big shoutout to the Governor. Does he not realize that california is in the worst shape because of this governor and his crazy woke ideology. The governor is the primary factrofor everythgn that is wrong with california as a whole and esp Oakland. What is the big deal in sending CHP to Oakland after making it the worst city in the country if not the worst place on the whole planet. Besides that, Oakland won';t have been any better even if ti had a police chief but that doesn't mean that what Sheng Thao did in firing the chief was correct. She exhibited pure arrogance of her mpower as the mayor and the first thign she did was fire the polic chief after she was sworn in. She deserves to be recalled and thrown out. Pamel Price has made Oakland and the entire Alameda county also contributedin making the situation worse. Barbara lee never paid any attention to oakland ieither and I am glad she wont be a senator not that I support useless and bomabastic Adam shtiiff.
  • I am 41 years old. Crime in Oakland is nowhere near the highest it has ever been- tho what is unprecedented in todays times- right here in Oakland is the attacks on every singles citizens humsn rights.
