We live in southeastern Illinois on a 41 acre homestead. We just finished building our log cabin in 2018. Now we are focused on trying to grow our own food and raise livestock. Follow us on our journey we continue to develop our homestead and farm, while becoming more self sufficient.

  • Growing up on a farm I learned you can never have enough barn cats for mice. Nice of you to take them in
  • @Dan-qy1rg
Got a lot done, from feeding the animals to cleaning the pens to watering the garden and more makes for a busy day. Thanks for sharing, have a good evening!

You gotta be lovin' the freedom and independence of full-time farming, Evan.

Nice summer day on the farm. The kitties are rescued and given a much needed home. Cats will sleep through the day and hunt mice at night and the barn will have no more mice from this day forward.
  • Good idea about storing the feed. It's easier keep in the sealed barrels. The cats look very relaxed. Everything about your farn is relaxed. Thanks Evan.
  • @Nick-nw6zg
So cool that you get to do this full-time living a dream
  • Lovely video as always. Thank you. Love the barn kitties. ❤️🙏

Thanks Evan, you got a mention on FTR about the water pipe breaking incident.

with as much feed as you have around you will NOT be sad to have several cats, as a kid we had a black moma cat that was the best mouser i have ever seen , we had lots of square bales at the time once i saw her have one mouse in her mouth, one under each front paw (one only had 2 toes as dad hit her with the mower in the pasture once) and she was staring at the mice running away like DANG!!! actually put a couple of fence posts to keep your intake bucket upright and let it float and you wont get as much gunk in the filter
  • Evan enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your farm life with us. Have a great rest of your week.
  • Perhaps you may want to consider a product called seam seal. It comes in a caulk gun. Available at the farm and feed store. That will seal up your grain storage bin with no problem
