In this video i re visit star citizens constellation Taurus. This ship is a solid buy for anybodys fleet, it boasts excellent components, versatiltiy, utility and fire power. The Taurus was one of the first large ships i owned as a new player and as the game develops there really isnt to much this ship cant do.
A dedicated freight ship from RSI and one of 4 variants this one i feel, will be the most useful.
Enjoy the adventure of a multi-crew Constellation on a budget! The Constellation Taurus is a dedicated freighter. Fully configurable but without all the bells-and-whistles, the Taurus is a great way to get started with crewed ships.

Star Citizen's Constellation Taurus my first large -ish ship in the game. As the game develops the Taurus begins to show its versatility and appeal for the roles it can fill in and around the verse. This ship will certainly be a huge asset to anybody as its excellent utility will almost certainly have you covered for most situations. BUT...What do you guys think about the constellation Taurus? As always let me know down below!!
  • @olmecultra6588
Change out the Bolon to a XL-1 and the shield to the FR-86. At that point the Taurus is probably the most versatile daily driver in the verse.
  • @chaoscorgi9348
Little known fact about this beauty-you can land a Merlin or Archimedes in the cargo bay when landed or in flight if you are accurate, and never have to worry about docking mechanics at all. In the OC of Connies that's where the snubs were first planned to go.
  • @EnixSC
This was the ship that introduced me to a life of trading, I might not fly it as much now my fleet has grown but it still brings a smile to my face every time I use it.

Connie Taurus is my daily driver work horse and I love almost everything about it. I just really wish they would rework the back half of the bridge and the crew area to bring them up to some of the current standards. When the Drake Cutter feels like a more complete living space for a player that the Connie, it's time to update the Connie.
  • @schakTheNerd
I love the Taurus. It's been my mostly daily driver for ages, other than a Cutty Red for FPS missions. It desperately needs a refresh, though.
  • something fun with the tractor on the taurus I found is that in the box missions where you need to pick stuff up from a hostile area you can just park and float the boxes in to your cargo lift without ever leaving the ship

This was my first ‘big’ ship too - back in the days when you could only walk around your ship as flight was still a thing to be introduced! I was in awe of it then and the whole class still has a special place in my heart. I’ve owned all the Connie’s at some point (love the Aquila’s bridge), but the Taurus is the only one I return to. She is what she is, honest, extremely functional and with no frills or go-faster stripes. A true classic!

I have a Constellation Taurus, as I prefer the large cargo and shielded small cargo hold, instead of the snub on the rest. I am sure that when the rework happens, some if not all struts in the cockpit will be removed, along with the habitation area getting improvements, bringing it up to gold standard. RSI ships seem to be leaning towards having more armor, like Anvil ships do. The Taurus will be no different as it has covered turrets/missiles and VTOL thrusters. It is CR's first multi crew ship and will get CIG's love, IMO.
  • @xm153088
I still have my Aquila and plan on keeping it. I expect the rework on the Connies will be really good when it happens. I'm guessing it'll be a few more years though. I also hope they add an additional remote turret to the rear of each model. They need it.

I've been a shill for the Connie Taurus for years and I'm loving how it's getting a bit of shine. We're still not fully there but, closer. This thing is a Cutless-Black on STEROIDS. It has everything a solo/small crew needs to make it out there. Small enough to solo and large enough to grow into. It's perfect. Also no content creators seem to be clearing this up as far as I know so I thought I'd add it here. PSA: People, the C-1 Spirit and Zeus CL do NOT compete with the Taurus. They are all tucked specifically under the Taurus. Since they were released, alot of people saw the components and assumed it meant they were as good as or better than the Connie line....No....They aren't. They simply have the updated spec sheet implemented. The Connie's do not. But when they get it, you'll see where they belong on the tier list. All of the Connies are buffed up ships in comparison to the Zeus variants. By range, firepower and each of their respective professions. Be it cargo, a scanning suite or extra firepower. Please stop getting the Spirits and Zeus varaints mixed up in this bracket. They do not belong. They aren't BAD, they just aren't as good. Great vid as always Pin. o7.

I'd like to see the smaller cargo area in the back be replaced with a dock for an mpuv tractor.

i love the connie. if i had to get rid of my hole fleet and keep just one ship. it would be a toss up between the Andromeda and the Taurus. that said, some things need to change the center side struts and the cross beam just need to go away. i dont care how its done. they just need to go. the placement of the bottom s4 guns needs to change. the fact that you can change the top guns to fixed s5 but not the bottom ones just doesn't make sense. half fixed/ half gimbled loadouts don't really work all that well. and a ship like the connie deserves better. either change the location of the hard points to so they all accommodate s5 guns, or make them all bespoke gimbals that only take s4. i prefer the former because me like big pew pew. but i would accept the ladder. they could also just leave the option of fixed s5 guns to the Andromeda and restrict the other variants to gambled s4 guns. the supports connecting the top and bottum turret, dont need to be there. they make the bridge feel more cramped than it really is. the crew quarters needs a toilet. there is no reason a ship like the connie shouldn't have a toilet. it already has the shower. just make it a 2 in 1 the forward dip should also be addressed. i think a single leg that unfolds from under the cockpit area would be good enough. i get some people dont like the idea because it might make the ship look wierd. but im not worried about that. The connie already looks kinda funky. an appendage extending from the chin of the ship wont make that much of a difference. either that or place the leg further back and just get rid of the crew elevator. it might restrict ground exits to just the cargo hanger but in exchange the bridge doesn't dip anymore, and you have more space to improve the crew quarters. the connie's speed is not perportional to its engines. they dont need to change the pitch and yaw speed, but with engines that big. the ship should have more speed. if cig just added a toilet, removed some of the struts and changed the weapon hard points, i would be happy. the rest are just nit picks.
  • @kyelsavage6296
For me, the HUDs are too bright to see past. That is my main frustration. That and everything glitching through the elevator floor when I raise it.
  • @fakiirification
agree, the MFDs are actually useful in the connie. its a great ship. upgraded my pledge freelancer max for it for 50 bucks, no regrets.
  • @JL-rj9fl
I fly this ship more than any other: it carries refined minerals, salvage when I'm teaming up with friends, she really does it all. Aside from the looks, the tractor beam placement and cargo lift are what sold me for the zero-g operations I regularly use her for.
  • @olternaut
I understand your reasoning for the Constellation. But I want a more modern ship that has similar or better functionality. That is why I was interested in the Galaxy. But I fear CIG is going to drag their feet with the Galaxy and I hear they may screw up it's debut with their interior and system design decisions for the ship. Perhaps CitizenCon will debut something in between the size of a Zeus mk2 and a Galaxy that will hit a sweet spot. Waiting patiently for CitizenCon.
  • @ViniciusConsorte
Currently i dont have a Taurus, but im finding a hard time justifying having a C1 or a Zeus CL over it..... its just better.... better weapons, better cargo and easier use of the tractor beam, better shields by far, better missile loadout, a fair bit slower than the spirit C1, dont know about the Zeus. i think i will rearange some ccus and make a taurus of the Vulture and make the C1 into something else, maybe the E1 that was the only Spirit i liked at first glance anyways.
  • @no-target3152
I like it with the dark green skin you can buy ingame. Good workhorse.
