Monastic life is very beautiful. For a brief time I considered becoming a Franciscan monk and stayed at Marytown in Illinois outside of Chicago. I left and got married my best friend at the time stayed on and was ordained a priest. This was in the late 1960's. Seven years ago we served together in Mexico; he a priest me a lay missionary. We're still friends today and my wife and I have been married for nearly 30 years! Together we have 15 kids including grandkids. Life has been good praise GOD; and it ain't over yet!

I listen often to monks doing Gregorian chants. It’s amazing

Although they live a simple life, there is very less or almost no stress involved. Most importantly, no temptation that this world has to offer

My parish here in Wales GB is served by Benedictine moks from Hereford, they are all very kind and to go listen to singing at the Abbey is a beautiful experience, thank God for them all, we must pray constantly the world's in peril Gods blessing to everyone, Christine.

This monastery is a lot more beautiful than many I've seen on YouTube. I like the way it blends with the canyon and the sun. I don't believe any of it, but I admire the way people commit themselves to what they believe in and there is beauty in that.
