A very very old palm tree that almost dried up is being replaced.
This is how hard it it to remove the bottom part of the tree with it's roots.
On average, most palm trees live for around 100 years, which is a pretty impressive feat. However, some species can live for much longer, up to 600 years in some cases! That's older than some countries! Of course, as with any living thing, there are factors that can impact the lifespan of a palm tree.
There's a need to use heavy machineries to get this job done perfectly.
The palm tree has a different root system than other tall trees.
They don’t have a taproot; instead, their roots circulate horizontally near the base of the tree, in a way where several narrow roots extend outwards and circulate in the soil rather than growing downward.
Palm trees have a 'fibrous root system.
The roots of the Palm are not deeply rooted in the soil. They are spread over the soil like a mat and penetrate nearly 36 inches of topsoil.
We can even see these roots if the tree is planted in shallow soil.

Have a wonderful day. P@t
