Stephanie! It was love at 1st sight when I came across your gorgeous face and videos some months ago and subscribed immediately. But I soon realized I am not your target audience cause I am African living in Europe. To be specific South African. You seem to be anti Africa. What is the difference between retiring in Ghana vs Jamaica? It all about demand vs supply, basic economics. Ghana is getting expensive because of the high influx of African Americans not because Ghana is bad. It doesn't matter where you retire, you have to have a long term financial plan and how you will earn a living. I don't know any black retirees who are digital Nomads or housesitters. Those careers are associated with younger people, at least under 60. I feel you are dictating to people to move to your favorite places. You sound prejudice based on very limited research. Your personal experience and chatting to one African American in Africa who didn't do proper research before they moved and had no financial plan doesn't mean the experience will be the same for everyone:-(

I'm a black woman and I moved to Costa Rica I've been here a year now. I can finally THRIVE, heal and support my own business and live off my land without the toxicity, racism and darkness of the United States. I am blessed and honored to have been able to make the move. I don't plan to ever move back to the United States. I am not an expat. I did however, have a remote job from the states that has now ended. It is pushing me to get my business up and running and to start my farm which I'm already harvesting and growing. It's refreshing the people and the culture are beautiful and my rent is only $300 it used to be $200 but I upgraded LOL. God Bless

I left america in 1981. I can not say how exceedingly happy I have been. Words can not express. 40 years outside of America.
  • I moved to Santa Marta, Colombia in 2018 and my rent dropped by $900.00.😁 I'm living in Mtwapa, Mombasa, Kenya..my monthly living expenses in 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment, electricity and wifi.$285.00.😁😁

I’m finding that Nairobi, Kenya is the hidden treasure that most people don’t think about. It’s very clean, with amenities, and nice housing. Even the people from Ghana are impressed.
  • @Enlightize
Black woman here! :) I've been living in Japan for over 7 years now. :) I love it!
  • @ProdavackaDivu
I’m not Black but I felt that this would be a good video for me since I also want to live in a place treats Black people well. That would be a good sign that the locals have a good heart. Also I love going out dancing, so I’ve always had the most fun in American cities where the highest numbers of our most rhythmically blessed people live 💜
  • We have a small yet growing community here in Istanbul, Turkey. We will be hosting our 3rd annual Juneteenth Jazz Brunch. Turkey is a great option for Black women. I've lived her for 2.5 years with my daughter and bought property here as well.
  • I was so waiting for you to mention Costa Rica. I was born and raised in Costa Rica, however live in DC now due to work/family life. My mother and some of my siblings still live there. It’s a treasure to be able to go back to my homeland. Pura Vida!!! Also, a couple towns in Costa Rica where there is a large black expat community is in Puerto Viejo and Cahuita. There is definitely a community vibe there with a large Jamaican/tico influence.

I met a black woman several years ago, who stated it was her dream to move to Mexico. She took the plunge and said she enjoys living there. And, she stated the people are good to black people.

My sister, your calm, quiet confidence makes me want to move to the house next door - wherever you are. Thank you for caring for us. I'm sure I speak on behalf of the sisterhood when I say: Thank you!
  • Been living in Lisbon for the past 1.5 years and I feel more at home here than I did in the states. I absolutely love it and I feel so at peace here. 💜
  • I never thought I would have the guts to move abroad until I came across your channel about 2 years ago. This year I finally did it! I moved to the UAE and love it! I chose UAE partly cuz of what I do, and I always stopping here when traveling to East Africa. Since I've been living here, I realize that the US has such a broken system. Anyway, Thanks again for all of your work and showing us that we can break up for good with the US 😊!

I swear you and a few other ladies have inspired me to get out of here. I have booked and paid for a trip to Mexico City for June & I am doing my best to prepare myself to expatriate forever. I even signed up for Spanish lessons! Oh my poor old brain.
  • @andreac6024
Correction Stephanie, yes, Jamaica is the most fun place in the Caribbean. The island is very diverse and a mecca for not just nightlife, but music, literature, sports, great festivals for everything, including great food, and natural scenery. However, Jamaica is one of the most expensive places in the Caribbean and crime is a problem too.

Such a good thing for many to get to higher ground.✨ Don’t let age or news propaganda stop you. I moved to Africa 🇪🇬 and love the life now!
  • @chidenisee
The "do you feel safe part?" I ask to people all the time when I say I want to leave. I am getting me and my son ready. He is only 2.5 now but I do plan on at least trying out a few countries starting 2024. Also, Lisbon is on my list for top country to move to.
  • @norinadavid1570
My friend, Ivy, lives in Costa Rica! Her husband transitioned last year but she said she is staying there because she loves it!
