A video which covers some of features of your Ledger Nano that you may not use very often, but that are still good to be familiar with if you want to do things like verify your seed phrase backup. (using the recovery check app) Know what the legit process for restoring a seed phrase looks like (to help you avoid scams) and also for how to safely use a BIP39 passphrase that is assigned to a PIN.

---------------------

If you are new to Crypto, my suggestion is that you start with buying ~$150 worth of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin @ Coinbase and get familiar with storing it, moving it around, etc.

For your first purcahse, just stick with CoinBase: www.coinbase.com/join/5691c9d0a4c3a05dfa000151

For Trading, just start with Binance: www.binance.com/?ref=18111926

By sticking with large, reputable exchanges for your first purchase (Coinbase) and first trade (Binance) you can avoid getting scammed right at the start by purchasing a non-existing coin off a scammy exchange. (You would be surprised how many people fall into this trap)

Don't have a hardware wallet?
Be safe and buy them direct from the manufacturer. (Not just through some random on eBay, Amazon, etc)
Get a Ledger: shop.ledger.com/?r=5243ecbb8427&tracker=youtube
(If you are just starting out, I would just recommend a Ledger Nano S)

  • Took me AGES to figure out how to test the passphrase is correct on ledger. Finally found this video - thank you !
  • Warning: Do NOT wipe/reset device before you verify/use "Recover Check" app. I'd hate to see someone follow along w video & wipe before they verify. BTW, appreciate your channel. New sub.
  • Note to viewers: never type your passphrase into a computer. In this example he writes "Passphrase=cat" into the account name so you can see which account it is, but don't do this yourself 😉
  • Another great video. I realise people like to keep videos short however my preference would be for slower talking which I think would make things easier to grasp.
  • Awesome! This clears up how to use and recover a passphrase if ever you lost or break your Ledger Nano S
  • I’ve been binge watching your videos (they are great, thanks for making them), but after watching this video I have decided that a hardware wallet would annoy the hell out of me. There is no way I could input all that using two buttons- it would drive me mental. I find it hard enough trying to do stuff on my mobile, or even a laptop- which is why I have two desktop computers 😂
  • You are the f**** man thank you you're the only one with a common sense video thank you:)
  • Thanks for your video, it's very helpful. Hope you can help with my question below : 1. If my seed words have been exposed to scammer, can they access my Ledger wallet without the PIN? 2. Can I reset my seed words? If so, would it changed my wallet address (I have staked coins using the existing address), if resetting the seed words alter my existing wallet address, then I will lost the funds which is linked to the current address? 3. Do you have video on how to change the seed words ? Appreciate your guidance.
  • Question I lost my nano ledger s. I still have my 24 phrases, so all I have to do is buy a new ledger nano s & put in the phrases & that’s how I will recover my cryptos? Correct ?
  • @LE-gg7iq
Hello, is the recovery Check app safe? Because you type in your seed phrase somewhere (your ledger). Can you use it too double check sometimes without any doubt of someone steal you phrase?
  • I have a question i got two Nano x . I set the two of them with a pin and 24 word phrase.I have not put any accounts on it. But i mix them up and i do not remember which one is with one. Can i erase both and start again?. An d if can be done please let me know. Thanks
  • @mp8129
Why YT don’t show your videos while searching for that kind of videos? Thanks for your excellent explanation 🙃
  • if i setup the device as a new device and set a new passphrase how do i still have access to the cryptos? Should i transfer everything before resetting?
  • If I have 24 words. Should I put them in vertically or horizontally?
  • @mathho13
let me get this straight, i can create a wallet with 24 words(seeds), i can add a pin to protect it. correct? if I put a Passphrase (25th word) I will have to add it once, and then to access it on my device I would use a different pin. is this right? and in case I want to do this countless times, I put a different Passphrase and a pin to access it. in case I reset my ledger or lose and want to restore on another device this pin will be useless, because what the new device will ask for will be my 24 words (seeds) and the Passphrase (25th word), correct? thank you in advance for always clarifying our doubts, your videos are the best :D
  • Dear crypto guide good job 👏 , today I have received a new Ledger Nano X now I can reset it without 24 words
  • You lost me on this one, why is a pass phrase needed when you use a pin already, would it you need this pass phrase to recover the 24 word seed for a new wallet?
  • Congratulations for your awesome content. I just have one question : if a hardware reset is needed, once I have entered my 24 words recovery passphrase, how do I get access to the hidden wallet with the 25th word ? Do I have to go to the "attach to a pin process" again and enter the same pin and 25th word as when setting it up the first time ? Sorry for the stupid question. Thank you very much.
