I met John in his house in the country village outside Kaohsiung. Before moving to Taiwan, John grew up in very remote parts of Canada because his dad was in the Navy. After graduating from high school, he moved to the US, and then New Zealand for 25 years. In his forties, John wanted switch careers from being a building inspector to teaching English. Originally, he wanted to go to Japan, but because of his age, Taiwan was a better fit. John lived in central Taiwan for years teaching and immersing himself in the local culture and politics. Later on, he built the world's first schoolhouse out of newspaper, which garnered international news coverage. Unfortunately, his school was next to an illegal stone factory that was run by gangs. In order to have more rights in court, he decided to renounce his Canadian citizenship and become Taiwanese. After fighting the gangs in court for 10 years, he was forced to move away. Despite this, John still likes living in Taiwan and being a Taiwanese citizen, so he plans to stay in the country indefinitely.

    上次在別的頻道也有聽John分享他的人生故事，但這邊講得更豐富，真的完全就是一位冒險家，比許多台灣人更像個台灣人；如果中國攻打台灣，我會更願意和這樣的人站在一起，而不是一心投共的賣國仔。

    在屏東戴興開間大茉莉小農場，旁邊就是間砂石場，當時找路時google上有一條小路直通達出路但被砂石場的圍牆檔了佔用，變成這個小農場是一個死巷子裏，不過還好不會很裏面，內部的規劃看得出來有心經營，且房屋滿有特色的!值得一遊。

    蠻同意John的, 如果想移民或到他國生活去, 是個人自由, 但如果戰爭開打有雙重國籍者才想跑, 建議取消他們的國籍才讓他們離開. !
