About South Park: South Park is the Emmy and Peabody-award winning animated series co-created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone about four boys living in one screwed-up Colorado mountain town. Between local and global tragedies, as well as parental and celebrity interference. For Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny it's all a part of growing up in South Park.

"the medical directors job is just to say no". That's the most accurate statement of the episode
  • @MaskedManMikeMD
Family Physician here. This is the most frustratingly accurate episode of all time.
  • South Park writers forgot the most important first step which is insurance being tied to Cartman’s life draining job.
  • @Taiylim
The depiction is so accurate , you can't even call it satire. It is just honestly how the system is and shows how bad it is for anyone who deals with it.
  • Legend says this episode was supposed to have come out in 2008, but Matt and trey didn't realize how long it would take them to navigate the American health care system
  • @jessica_swan
As a hospital biller, I can confirm that this is TOO ACCURATE.
  • @draheim90
“We already talked to the insurance company, they were supposed to talk to you.” Too real.

If there was any real justice in this world, Butters’ song would be the mandatory hold music for all health insurance companies.
  • @kma3647
Since when did South Park start doing documentaries?! Holy crap, that's just too accurate to be satire!
  • @garywatson
What’s missing in the montage is the three hours on hold each time and the six to ten weeks you have to wait for each of the appointments.

There are over 600 lobbyists on the hill for just UHC alone. Disgusting. Absolutely corrupt and criminal.
  • "Okaaay, so we confirmed all the paperwork, now all we need to do is touch base back with your insurance one more ti- AAAND ITS GONE!"
  • @Supershark83
A friend went to a clinic in Mexico for bronchitis. Had an exam and received at the clinic, antibiotics, cough medicine and an inhaler. When he went to pay they said " it's free. You can leave a tip if you want" . He offered $5 and was told " that's too much" 😮 We in America have been brainwashed into thinking medical treatment should be expensive, but in reality it's not. It's the markup that's expensive, driven by greed. Some hospitals in the US charge $7 for an aspirin 😱

As a primary care provider, I can tell you, that this breaks my heart with its accuracy.
  • @Iamthelolrus
While i was watching the special, in the middle of the song, my doctor called and pushed back my appointment...
  • @Exl6243
LOL, Butters got stuck in the Interstellar black hole singularity!
  • I’m a physician & a patient. This is NOT a parody. It’s a documentary.😮
  • When he said “ that door right over there “ I thought they were going to be back outside.
