    Duck: "What's a shinobi?"
I expect comments like that from him everytime I click here, and it STILL hits me.

1:58 "What's a Shinobi?" A Ninja. Literally, that's all it is. Some will tell you it specifically means "male ninja" but this is incorrect. Ninja is the on'yomi pronunciation of the kanji 忍者. On'yomi is the modern descendant of the Japanese approximation of the base Chinese pronunciation, as Japanese borrows its written language from the Chinese. Shinobi is the kun'yomi pronunciation. Kun'yomi is a reading based on the pronunciation of a native Japanese word. Shinobi itself is short for shinobi-no-mono. Shinobi literally means "to steal away; to hide" and mono means "person". Ninja is just the shortest version of saying "stealthy person". If you hear about any differences between ninja and shinobi it usually comes from a video game or anime and isn't true outside of that fantasy setting.

This was actually the episode where I realized that Boomstick puns at the end of every fight, and I went back to double-check that.

Segata Senshiro is the Sega mascot that makes people play Sega consoles and beats the shit out of them if they deny his gift. He's a meme, a legend, and ridiculous Japanese advertisement to the full extent.

I’d recommend Sam fisher vs solid snake and/or joker vs sweet tooth.

This battle I disagree purely based on the power Scaling between naruto and TLA. Even if his sand were to be useless, Shinobis can basically move at supersonic speeds far beyond what TLA characters are capable of and Gaara is kage level. He probably could have just beat her up with his fists. He never uses Taijutsu in the show but he definetly is adept at it. Also his attacks should move at a level where Toph would be unable to react even if she saw them coming.

You're gonna love Samus vs Boba Fett. I'm not gonna say who wins, but it's clear who's going to win right from the start.

7:17 "I thought the monster gave him the power to control sand." Yes and no. The children that grew up infused with a tailed beast developed higher levels of chakra (power/energy, kinda like ki from DBZ) of their own that's not specifically from the monster as a natural response to containing the monster within. This means if they lose the monster, they are still outrageously powerful by themselves and are still top-tier threats.

realized, the guy voicing Gaara during the fight also voiced Maxwell in TFS Hellsing Ultimate Abridged.
  • @VirtueCry
The entire plot of Naruto is that there are 9 tailed beasts (each with a number of tails from 1-9), super monsters with a destructive power on the level of nukes, and these different ninja clans put the tailed beasts into newborns to contain them. Most of these children grew up completely isolated and hated by their own clans because of the terror they represent. This is revealed at the beginning of the anime. Naruto has the 9 tailed beast inside of him, which makes him the protagonist because he has the greatest potential for power. Gaara has the 1-tailed beast.

This is one of the battles a lot of people agree is wrong, but I don't have any issue with it.

Shinobi's literally another word for Ninja.

2 kinds of tanuki: #1. the real-life Japanese Raccoon Dog and #2. the big-balled ones of Japanese mythology. The latter ones are kinda weird, but don't even hold a candle to the other supremely weirder Yokai (basically, supernatural creatures of Japanese folklore).

Chakra's like the Ki of Japan and Mana of the Polynesian Triangle, except it's from India (i.e., Hindu-Buddhism).

Speaking of metal having earthly composition, now you know why I put "earth" in the powersets of deities who reside over things like nature, plants, mountains, metal, deserts, rocks, wealth, etc.. Cuz if it comes from the ground, it's in the elemental category of "earth." Same rules apply to other elements. However, if one controls both fresh and salt water, they're just a sea deity. If they just do freshwaters, lakes, rivers, etc., they're just a water deity. The bigger the amount of a major element, the bigger the amount of influence on smaller, sub-elements.

So Seamus vs Boba Fett was the very first Deathbattle. There is actually 3 versions of it. The pitch version to get the show greenlit that only has Wiz. The first Deathbattle and then this remaster in 3D by Torian

Wait duled boomi to a draw when and where did that happen and was the one to do that in show was it in a comic if so which one I want to read it pls
  • @catxborsuq1
As somebody who watched both series, I have to say, this was the first time that I personally disagreed with the outcome of Death Battle.
  • @demonic_myst4503
remember earth benders can pass though solid rock so sand isnt gouing to crush or hold her one first things we saw was king boombi lay into the earth and pass through it
  • @Dinosaurd123
You absolutely need to react to Yang vs Tifa next!
  • @haku8135
This is one of the clear mistakes from Death Battle.

Toph had no chance. Gaara is FAR stronger and earthbending isn't as flexible or powerful as Gaara's sand. This dude can literally throw an entire desert at her and then smash her to paste, there's really nothing Toph can do against that. Toph also can't bend if her arms and legs are being restrained, they had no justification for keeping her alive through the things they themselves animated. They overestimated Toph and greatly underestimated Gaara. The dude literally caught a METEOR.
