As someone who currently serves active duty in a sub, I can tell you right now we are nowhere near afraid. Weary probably at best, but not afraid.
  • @Beans1111111111
I seriously doubt we are afraid. If we were than we would have left the South China Sea a long time ago.
  • The US is not terrified of China's subs. First off, China has different mission requirements for their subs compared to the US subs. Second, the US has vastly more experience in naval operations, which has proven time and time again to be vastly more useful. Third, US naval technology is far better than what the Chinese has deployed so far.

These sort of captions always make me laugh and shake my head. Nobody is terrified, we recognize a potential new threat and respond accordingly.

And the US Navy is probably already at work on its next sub. I’m not worried. Things like this forces the US to adapt and regain advantage and that will never change. Good for China of building more capable fleet btw. No reason why they shouldn’t be able to do this for their own security. Just like the US will continue to deepen its own.

Well, this video’s title sure didn’t age well.

Hi, sonar technician on submarines checking in. Diesel subs are not that hard to track when on battery unless they are in a high noise coefficient area. Diesel Subs still have pumps, machinery, and personnel on board that all put transients in the water.
  • @terroristiga
    I wouldn’t stress about something that’s made in China…
  • Towed sonar arrays are passive not active (i.e., they don't emit 'pings'). Trailing the sub at a distance removes the array from the sub's own noise, and allows a longer aperture to provide better directional sensitivity.
  • @KKSuited
You don't even need to track diesel subs or destroy them. You just need to destroy or remove the means by which it refuels. A service ship is much easier to track.

I’m sure it will break within 24 hours of the warranty ending

It's really weird that they're not investing in building fuel cell submarines like Germany,. Any nation with an advanced enough automotive industry has the engineering knowledge.

It’s extremely rare to find videos like this, oftentimes on The Infographics Show the videos people watch are why China or China’s allies are terrified/afraid of the US [blank].
  • So they're still dependent of refueling. How are they going to do that when B-52s and B-2s make any friendly port unusable?
  • @Cross_network
“China is building it very fast!” Have you seen their very fast construction?
  • @stevemac6707
Considering the state of their more modern ships in the Navy which have been shown to have massive cracks in them from using substandard steel I doubt anyone has much reason to be afraid. These type of videos always make me roll my eyes because they are taking what China says about it's capabilities at face value (much like they did with Russia) and seem to be unaware of the fact that of course they will lie, they can't very well be honest about how s**t they really are.

We are always working on countering the enemy advancement and I’m sure we are constantly working to negate enemy advancements. I hope we never have to see these secret weapons used in an act of war, offense or defense.
