PATREON: www.patreon.com/storystreet TWITTER: twitter.com/StreetOfStories Thanks for watching the start of StoryStreet Season 3! It took me a long time to finally talk about one of my favorite characters, but better late than never, right? I have two more videos planned for the rest of the year, and I'm super excited for both of them, so make sure to subscribe and turn on notifications if you want to hear about it when those drop! Have a great day!

A small thing I liked about Peter staying the night in the FEAST shelter is that, he had the option to take one of the extra cots/beds, but he doesn't. He takes the small couch so that anyone who needs a bed can still take it.
  • @zionomusic
I feel like Spider-Ham says it best when in Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse he says, "the hardest part about this job, Miles, is that you can't save everyone."
  • @CommanderMarcel
One of the most beautiful videos I've ever watched. No exaggeration. I'm a 7th grade ELA teacher, and I'm still living in my head like I can save everyone. It's so hard to let any of them go, man. It's so hard to see them fail after all of the time we've spent together, helping each other become better people. To see them get suspended, expelled, or killed. I always feel like it's my fault. Like I could have done more. Sometimes I wish I could swing from rooftops, saving them all, but it's not my fault. I have to remind myself.
  • I never connected the dots that Otto was manipulating us and Peter ever since he found out. It makes his fall both more tragic and inevitable. I love this games story. This is one of (if not the) best video essays about one of my favorite games of all time! Seriously man. You hit it outta the park with this one
  • This is probably one of the most underrated channels on YouTube, great visuals, audio, and editing. Keep up the great work man!
  • The one other thing I really loved about this game is how they even humanized Norman Osborn of all people. In the comics and for the most part, the movie, Norman Osborn is just a selfish arrogant prick who ruins people's lives just because he can. He's just a scumbag through and through. But not here. Norman's own evil deeds were never out of genuine hatred or glee in the suffering of the innocent, while it may have turned into that over time. It all really started out of grief, and love. Losing his wife took a huge toll on Norman, it broke him. Seeing that his son Harry had the same terminal illness was something he was not willing to live through again. In a way, Norman, like Peter, took the blame on himself for it. But never again. He was going to play dirty to save his son because he had had enough. He was pushed to the point of desperation that he was willing to throw anyone and everyone under the bus, including Otto, Li, and many more, just if it meant that he could give his son another chance at life. It's not something I excuse, but it is something I understand. After all, quoting Mimir from God of War, "The death of a child is not something a parent gets over easily." And Norman is a prime example of that. I dunno about you, but I don't really like Goblin as a character in the comics cuz he was so one-note. It's fun at first but then it got stale. Making him a broken man just trying to save the one thing he loves adds so much context to everything he does. Cuz then you realize. If you're going to face off Norman, it means you endanger the chances of Harry having a future.

13:19 I felt sorry for Peter when he got poisoned by Scorpion and sees the hallucination of Otto accusing him of things like only working with him to steal his ideas, saying he's a failure at life and love and saying he should have helped because it was all things Peter believed about himself or thought Otto suspected him of.
  • Peter almost instinctual blaming himself for octavius becoming evil actually reminds me of a line from the Ulitmate comics universe, where that version of nick fury tries to reassure peter by talking about how he isn't responisbke for every reckless person who somehow gets powers and decides on their own to do evil.

"You can't save everyone, especially from themselves" truer words to live by kids, pay attention cause this is what being an adult is all about. Also, this was my son's first game he finished all on his own and mine was spiderman 2.

“Even when people hurt you. There’s always someone else who will help you through” such a great quote ima subscribe
  • @themikx2939
Loved Spider-Man ps4 definitely the best interpretation of Peter Parker since the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon
  • @imjustomarr
"Just because you have great power, doesn't mean everything is your responsibility". That just got you a new subscriber. I love your channel and all of your videos like this. Especially your Uncharted 4 one. Please, keep finding your way through your words. I know you said you wanted to become a journalist, and that's still a possibility. So, no matter how bad yesterday was or how annoying you'll think tomorrow will be, don't lose sight on today.

Spider-man taught me to be a hero. Growing up he was a primary role model. Watching him have to make hard decisions, sacrificing what he wanted most, so that he could save the day because he knew he had to. Sure he could have looked away and gone after what he wanted...but then someone else would lose their "Uncle Ben", and he couldn't live with that. I grew up watching and reading his stories, and his choices to do the right thing even at his detriment are the reason I have become the man I am today. Doing what I can for my family, or giving up that extra couple hours of sleep I could have used so I can stay up talking with a friend when they are breaking down...Spider-man taught me to be a hero...and this game perfectly captured that essence and gave one more reminder of how to keep going when things don't pan out because you did the right thing. Take pride in doing your best, because it's the only thing we can all do. You did amazing on this video dude, thank you for putting in that effort and sharing this with all of us.
  • @joshalberts7043
Bro… why did you have to make this hit so hard.. I’m fucking in tears but can’t help but Thankyou for them. Looking forward to the next video
  • Otto was telling the truth about his secret being sate with him. The one thing Dr. Octavius didn't do was give out Spider-Man's identity. He was also right about the pain that you're gonna have to go through. I'm only 16 but I've gone through so much. Sometimes you can't do anything to help yourself or others. It's hard but like he said when you're broken someone will be around to help you when you need it most just like Spider-Man is there for everyone.
  • The first game I ever beat as a kid was Halo Reach. Let me tell you, after that final fight the joy I felt of beating the game only lasted about 5 seconds before I realized my character was about to die. It was my first exposure to realizing we aren't invincible, and that sometimes the main character doesn't get to make it
  • @noahe2362
This was the first ever game I completed 100% by myself. It was 2018 and I had gotten a ps4 for Christmas and a copy of Spider-Man ps4, and that night I played it and had so much fun. I sucked at the game, I had never even held a console controller before but I had so much fun swinging around the city as Spider-Man and fighting bad guys that it didn’t matter. This is my favorite game of all time and I’m glad that there is a video on YouTube that explains why this game is amazing, loved the video. Story street season 3 is off with a great start!
  • This is one of two video games that have ever made me cry. The first was The Last of Us. The second was this game. It's ending is such a slap in the face first you have Peter confronting Doc Ock not as Spider-Man but as himself as the person who loved Otto like he was a father as the person he wanted to be like one day. That ripped out my heart. It left my hands shaking it was just good. Then the scene with Peter once again having to make a choice. This one even worse than with Otto. Save his last living relative or save the city. This choice is just so messed up when you really, REALLY stop to think about it. All his life he's been unable to save his family members. His parents, his uncle.. and in this moment he is holding in his hands the one thing that can save his Aunt. All those other times he's been powerless to do anything. But this time was time was different he could do something.. but in doing so he would be dooming thousands maybe tens of thousands to die. It's literally a no win situation for Spider-Man, forr Peter. That broke my heart. Just thinking about ever having to make a choice like makes me feel dead inside. Would I save the person who raised me, who I love, means everything to me.. or would I let that person die in order to thousands of strangers who will never truly appreciate what I gave up to save them. That is why this Spider-Man might be one of the greatest versions EVER!
  • Great video man. Aunt May's death in this game hits different for me now because I lost my Grandma back in March. No joke I actually shed a tear seeing that clip. Looking forward to your next video.
