The 25th Genesis Awards was held at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City on March 19, 2011. Over 1,000 people attended the glittering black tie event which featured Hollywood celebrities and luminaries in the humane movement. It was founded by the late Gretchen Wyler to salute people in the media who promoted a kind and sensible treatment of animals."The Elephant in the Living Room" won for best feature documentary while "How to Train your Dragon" won for best feature film. Presenters included Emily Deschanel, James Cromwell and Tippi Hendren.
