Hello peachies🍑 Makeup trends come and go, but there's one thing that's here to stay – face contouring!

Contouring was commonly known as a steadfast method for reshaping your face. In essence, contouring involves employing various makeup shades to craft an optical illusion on your skin. This technique is used to emphasize your bone structure and enhance your facial features.

However, it's important to understand that contouring isn't about completely altering your appearance or creating entirely new features. Instead, it's about elevating and highlighting the natural features you already possess. The approach to contouring can vary depending on your unique face shape, meaning that what works for one person may not be suitable for another.

Facial contouring is often not the top priority for makeup beginners, in fact many people are still figuring out the best ways to apply contour for their specific face shape.Over the years, the internet has been flooded with various quick contouring hacks. From the classic "follow the hollow" technique, where you essentially squeeze your cheeks and contour along the grooves under your cheekbones, to the latest TikTok sensation known as "contour based on science," which was started by a dermatologist.

While these hacks can be fun and convenient, it's important to remember that our face shapes are distinct and varied. Understanding how these techniques apply to your unique face shape may require a bit of time and experimentation.

If you're curious about how to achieve that flawless, snatched look, you've landed in the right spot! Keep on watching for a 101 lesson on contouring!

There's no contour guide for oval, though...? Every other face shape has a contour recommendation.

i would love for dear peachie to have their own makeup salon where each artist focuses on a different face shape and you can get your makeup fully tailored to your face and skin undertone.

Advice for diamond face shape girlies from my experience! Wavy/curly hair suits us more than straight har, and if u don't want heat on your hair, make two french braids before sleeping, let them stay overnight and you'll have the most gorgeous looking waves in the morning! Do not keep middle hair parting as it makes our face look even slimmer, to have an hair part tht suits u the most , make a parting that is in the same line as the inner corner of your eye, it looks super pretty on us!😍

As someone with a diamond shaped face, I think we are a rare breed and celebrity examples of this shape are usually wrong. The only woman shown here who actually has a diamond face is Halle Berry. Also I would say the advice for blush placement here is also not the best. Although blush right on the cheekbone like that can look fine, it looks MUCH softer and more youthful if you actually do use an "expanding shade" but place it in the center of your face ONLY, under the eyes on the top of the apples of your cheeks. You can further emphasize that by placing a soft metallic highlighter only on the tops of the apples, NOT up along the bone. The contour on the very sides of the cheekbone, the matte highlighter at the temples, and the softer shaped brows is all solid advice though. 👍

Once I learnt about colour values for my digital art, it completely changed my makeup too because that theory applies everywhere. I really recommend learning about colour values which is basically the darkness or whiteness of a colour. This will help you learn about contrast too which is crucial for makeup, clothing and hair colouring to compliment your skin colour.
  • thank youuuu for this tutorial!!! can you do more of these 101 videos? they are so helpful <3 and i love how your videos are all so structured 🥰🥰🥰

wow i thought i was an oval face but im actually a diamond and it opened my eyes so much like this makes sense now with the hair styles that work for me and now the contouring! i tried the western follow the hollow technique and i hate it and ditched contouring for a long time until now. following the diamond contouring technique and taking in consideration of my asian cheekbone structure, it literally changed my view on myself and i actually love contouring now. THANK YOU PEACHIE
  • @RoyalRadiantJade

There are 3 more face shapes according to visagism theories: straight base hexagon, straight sided hexagon and inverted triangle. I believe that anyone who didn't find themselves in the video is in one of these, like me. I'm kinda sad cause it's very hard to find content about hexagonal shapes. 😢 Love dear peachie btw.

So, i'd like to thank you for the videos,at first, I didn't like some of my facial features even with makeup on, none of the internet tricks i've learned over the years did any difference (for contouring), now, watching some of your videos, i'm really understanding why some of the things i've used to do worked, and why some of them didn't, and even better, i'm not trying to change my face shape because of a trend, i'm accepting it for what it is ❤

When you have the forehead of a heart shaped face, the cheeks of a round face and the jaw like the square face. God had fun making me
  • @philosofiex
according to the test, I got 2113 which is a round shaped face, but I don't think it is correct because my face isn't equal in length and width. I still don't what my face shape is, which is so frustrating
