You can build big triceps at home without weights, using only resistance bands. Undersun Founder James Grage shows you how:

Step 1: Anchor the resistance band to a high anchoring point.
Step 2: Grab the resistance band somewhere in the middle. Feet about shoulder-width apart.
Step 3: Bring elbows down to your sides. And this is our starting position.
PRO TIP: Keep your chest up. Keep your chin up.
Step 4: Crank out four total sets, 20 reps on your first set.
Step 5: Increase your resistance for sets two and three. You're going to go for ten reps before coming back to the original resistance you started with.
Step 6: Fourth set, using your original resistance band, for 15 reps with a faster tempo.

That is how you perform a Triceps Pushdown using resistance bands.

  • My favorite triceps exercise with bands. You really feel the pump with this one.
  • Finally a tricep exercise I can do without gym. I have bands and I wanted to include them in my training. Thank you.

Superb exercise. Good instructions in this video.
  • Hi James, one of the tougher triceps exercises push downs is so important for other parts of the body like the chest, the stronger the triceps the more pushups and benches you can do. It also makes the arm bigger in size because of the three heads it has you have to hit those triceps from different angles. I notice you emphasize isolating the muscle making the muscle work harder to maximize your results.
  • thank youuuu!!!!! my favorite exercise. Thanks a lot man
  • What a coincidence , I was looking for a video by you on triceps and couldn’t find one that specifically addressed that body part. I just got your Under Sun bands a few days ago and really love them. Many thanks.

Up until now I've been doing this with doubled up bands (250lbs total resistance) and the benefit of a PVC pipe and I'd always managed to get it all the way down to my sides. But when I tried it earlier WITHOUT the pipe this time (just my hands with gloves), I wound up stopping just in front of my waist. Do I level down the bands a bit so I can extend all the way? ((I ditched the PVC and steel pipes for my band workouts starting this week, and the common trend I found was that it's harder without the pipes))

I'm so scared to push the band to max, because I don't want it to snap and punch me in the face
