J1mmy is a treasure to the osrs community. He always has quality content and we adore him.

i think the main reason Jimmy didn't like wow's gearing system is because RuneScape gear often has unique effects & niche usages as opposed to direct upgrades. when new armor is released it's usually a sidegrade & not the new bis

all of my movement keys were mouse-bound(6-8 button mouse) , and the whole left side of my keyboard was dedicated to the spells/macros used in combat. the right side of my keyboard was used on menu-toggles, and spells used outside of combat/buffs
  • They need to rework old maps with a certain frequency, like one or two old maps per patch or .5 patch. It's adding new content for those who want to make an alt or a new player, and making a more nerfed xp progression. It's an opportunity to "update" the map's history, make the old world more interesting without spending tons of resources reworking everything at once. They can also receive frequent feedback on new additions. For example: patch 11.0.5 Elwynn Rework & Durotar‎ Rework. patch 11.1 two other maps. And if the feature is well accepted, they can increase the frequency. I know that Ion has already commented on recreating the old maps, and of course adding the bronze flight for those who want to visit the old version. In my opinion, it's a bad idea to make an expansion the starting point for a new player.

The thing with those videos about Exiles reach, where they are supprised that leveling is that fast is. no one mentioned that there is a 50% exp buff up on the time of recording.
  • @OrisMaxy
someone needs to watch your reaction, reacting to Jimmy and Xaryu
  • @cenciqt6045
your idea of having a streamlined experience that sort of "chromie scenarios" through important moments is what newp layers should be doing to level 100% that sounds awesome. similar to FFXIV but not as long, like 10% of the time lol

Best path imo (having done the noob levelling over the past 4 weeks) would be: buy boost to 60 (or get with subscription), then take your time and enjoy dragonflight, then end game. Forget the pre-dragonflight areas for now as too confusing. BFA was cool but you only start to get into it when you ding 60. I wish I would have just started at 60 as I enjoyed DF campaign so much more and it’s easy to follow then to the end

The solution to making the game slower for those who want it is allow people to opt in/out of a experience boost similar to the way warmode works. You could enable it or disable it at any point and the % increase is small unless you have a character that is a higher lvl then the one your on. It means they can fine tune the new player experience while retaining an even slower option for those who want it. It also allows newer players to reroll if they pick a class they thought was cool and 40 lvls down the line get bored of it or simply decide its not for them, it respects the persons time and gives them an option to "catch up" to their first character or keep the slower lvling pace.
  • @iv9ry
I agree with you, I do think that they should just have a main chain questline through the expansions highlighting the main things in terms of lore. Maybe take down the leveling speeds from 100% to 75% so you can still feel like you're earning the loot and it's not as quickly replaced on top of actually being able to wrap up the story (or even just a selection of what experience you prefer) if you want to get to end game content quickly you choose what we have now, if you prefer the grind then you select the story line questing.
  • @Raika63
I think if you have a max level classic character you should be able to boost a character in retail to the current expansion starting level and have it spoon feed you abilities like a hero class starting area does.
  • @TecTitan
I actually am unironically happy i saw Xay's react and then yours makes me feel like I'm on the second movie of a cinematic universe <3
  • @backtrakk2121
Gonna keep saying until it sets in, if Jimmy had leveld with the same people he played with it Wrath Classic it would of been a completely different experience...retail is getting hate for him CHOOSING not to play with others
  • @ThatFoxGirl
53:59 now I want to see you react to high end PvE/PvP in old school runescape, because as someone who plays it, but doesn’t do high end content, oh my god those people are crazy. They do like full gear swaps in single game tics, and eat food on specific frames to cheat death, it’s nuts.
  • @Tr3nix
Baj, can I ask a huge favour? I'm new to Arms and play a lot of bg's. When I end up in a 1v1 scenario I either do really well against some classes/specs or get absolutely demolished. Can you do a video on how to handle each class? Things to look out for, when to use CDs, etc. That'd be so damn cool.
  • @lilamee7447
What could be cool is like an On rails shooter style tutorial intro that runs through the main story of the game. Have each class have a slightly unique perspective on the story and give the players a chance to learn and get used to the class ( to avoid the overwhelm and burnout from getting rushed to max level without really understanding skill mechanics)
  • @user-ks2xq7rv9y
39:40 fantastic question, because even if you could make 2 ideal leveling situations, how do you make the players who pick the "slower" leveling experience feel like they didn't pick the "inferior" leveling experience. maybe they could gate it like players not being able to make DK's until they had a character at least lvl 58 (basically 1 character who has completed the original leveling experience). but idk.
  • @tekamer6566
The main reason newbies dont see new players is because FOR SOME REASON, BLIZZARD FUNNELS ALL NEW PLAYERS TO EMPTY SERVERS. When I level on Twisting Nether EU I always see players in the most random locations leveling and doing stuff. Almost never is it empty even at non peak hours. But when I log on to "NEW PLAYER SERVERS" its empty as hell.
  • @morgisGrS
Started week before cata , best experience ever😂
  • I have another idea. Kind of like you said, but a different kind of starting area where you have a lower person taking you through the highlights of each expansion.
