As French President Macron so accurately said: “To you in Britain, she was your Queen. To the rest of the world, she was THE Queen.”

When I was a child, my mother who was born in 1915, told me how hard it was for her to sing God Save the Queen when the Queen's father, George VI died and and Elizabeth ascended the throne. And now, here I am, 70 years later, having to learn to sing God Save the king

Still breaks you realising it's probably gonna be at least 100 years before anyone ever hears this again

She never forgot that a monarch was not a ruler, but a servant bound by duty to serve her people and her nation. Especially in an age where the role was largely ceremonial, she never forgot that and maintained the dignity of office and the nation in that service.

As an American that believes in our republic, I had and still have the utmost respect for Queen Elizabeth II. She was born a hereditary noblewoman, but she was truly nobility in spirit and deed. May she rest in peace.

The Queen has certainly done a lot to the british commonwealth, and now she lies resting peacefully with his beloved husband. May she rest in peace until the end of time.

I am not from the UK, but I have always had the greatest respect for Queen Elizabeth. She is missed, she was a great asset to the UK. It made me sad to hear that this is the last time we will hear God Save the Queen.

This is heartbreaking for me 💔 I still can’t believe we have lost our beloved Queen. Hearing the National Anthem, I still want to say God Save The Queen, even though we have a King 🇬🇧

Miss her. Outstanding devotion to duty

I am an American but when someone said the Queen I automatically knew who they were speaking of. She was the only Queen for me given I am now 72 years old. With her passing an era of duty with dignity came to an end.

I still find it difficult to imagine the world without her

Queen Elizabeth had class... she was a very good leader.

Our Queen. R.I.P From Australia 🇦🇺

I think of Queen Elizabeth often. The bagpipes at the end turning the corner into history still haunts me.
-
Still shedding tears . 😢😢

Elizabeth II, by the Grace of Almighty God, Queen, Defender of the Faith. A Great Queen in our times.

I'm proud that her majesty was my queen for virtually all my life. In death she was driven along the Kingsway in Dundee where I stood aged five with my school class to cheer her after her coronation.🏵️

Still cant belive that era ended
-
"Long live our noble Queen" We know that God certainly wanted to make this part true. Rest in Peace, Your Majesty.

yeah I'm an American and it still hurts to hear this Anthem even after her Majesty has passed
