  • My mother had a black, 1949 Packard Clipper. It was a beast. We were something of a hot-rodding family. My brother, at 15, got a '40 Ford with a blown engine and my parents gave him a Chevrolet Blue Flame 6 from a wrecked '56 Corvette. He shoehorned the engine into the chassis, along with a scrounged Cadillac-La Salle rear end and had the hottest 6 in Pasadena. He finished it off in Kandy Apple Green and a friend pin-striped it. Cherry!
  • Yeah, Victor's got the eye for what a custom car should be, French those taillights as soon as you can.

Ian I know this is a show and ya are business men but dang the Packard I know you can pull it off but its said you made it for your friend and he sold it to Victor and Vick is a cool guy but you had it looking so good I would of just cut the part for the dash that holds the dash and rig the rest something I had a idea in my thinking and just either make a wire harness and just be able to to damage all the wiring but its a show I enjoy your work

The one thing I would have said "hard no" to would be eliminating the distinctive Packard grille entirely. Modify it however you need to make it work with the heavily modified hood. But by 1948, that was the one true identifying feature of a Packard. Remove that, and you may as well lead sled yet another early 50's Merc.
