These automations are epic, bowing down in awe. Love these home tours, no better way to feel completely inferior with home automation.
  • @ZerozPk
I love these tours. It's awesome to see what other people are doing, how they did it, and why. It's like the perfect blend of HGTV home tours with smart home stuff thrown in!

I’m a project engineer for a room management company for hotels. We deal with all the automations in the rooms. There’s so many new automations I want after starting this job
  • The offhand 'realfeel temperature' mention got me to finally figure out the calculations to take humidity into account when powering on my A/C unit. Thanks!
  • @AdrianR84
I’ve been eyeballing my kettle for a while now wanting to go the ESP32 route. I’m going for it after seeing this. I hope we get to see more from Chris and Janna. Great stuff!

Wow this was a great example of your house working for you, making your life simpler! Loved every one of the shown automations and aligns very well with stuff I'm currently doing with esphome and being able to locally control my own hardware. Very special background which certainly helps a lot!

YoLink devices are part of my system and work so well from distance. Their fobs are multi button smarts that all play pretty well with alexa routines or on their own. Their sensors only one that worked for my outdoor driveway sensor and temp sensor only one I found reliable for my freezer alert from garage. is a nice setup. My setup not so detailed. They did a nice job on their place with solutions.

1:16 OMG! A wife who has glowing things to say about home automation??? Husbands everywhere take note! 😂
  • @davidbeiler6364
very interesting! Would be interesting to see if they have anything to measure gas usage!
  • @curtisbme
LoRa is no joke for stable, long range connections for these type of devices. I was testing some of YoLink's water sensor and I went way down our street and it was still connected.
  • @DIYtechie
Cool to see a more industrial home automation system.
  • @PatrickFelstead
loved this video, from a technical perspective with the pretty unusual integration of industiral equipment, but also the shots of their green garden, yard and the horses.

I have an old SLC505 I've debating using as Home Auto.. buuuut work wants me to ship it in... buzzkills! However the Automation Direct stuff is dirt cheap, effective, and easy to program. WITH FREE software. Long as you stick with the Productivity line.
  • @magicentral
I would love to see a tutorial around the kettle automation/modifications!
  • @smartsideoflife

I have Yolink at my house, very good product. I too have the gate sensor.

Wow this is next level home automation. One day I hope to be at this level but still amazing to see how users will come up with next level stuff to make life easier and cool at the same time
