This show is like therapy for ex players . I’ve even noticed Clint Dempsey grow and mature and not be an Oscar the grouch all the time
  • From a loyal Mexico fan as a Mexican-American. We respected Donovan so much. Yeah we hated you on the field but at the same time we respected his game, his professionalism and his passion. “El Pinche Donovan.”

Kate Abdo is an incredible interviewer. Just world class
  • @teensouljah
Everyone else is wearing designer shoes and Dempsey is there with socks and Crocs. Legend.

I'm' Mexican American born here and I'm proud to have been born here I lived in Mexico and went to school there. I know what Donovan means to have a love for the US to play for the US. My connection is much greater the US because my life is here , I love my heritage but there is something to be said about being born and raised in the land you were born in.
  • One of the best interviews. Never thought Donovan would do an Interview like this.

Landon makes a great point about some of the US team players. Look at Julian green, Aaron Johansson, mix. Where are those guys now and why haven’t they been on the US roster since 2014?
  • @ElN1N07
Maurice Edu was class. He absolutely should have gone to the 2014 WC.

He may not articulate himself in the best way but that doesn’t mean his point in principle isn’t accurate. There was definitely a “mercenary” feel during the Jurgen era where you just knew some of the players coming were purely taking advantage of a career opportunity and wouldn’t have cared whose colors they were doing it in. Especially over more deserving players. Nobody is saying dual nationals or mixed cultures are bad. It’s just being obtuse to try to make it one or the other. You absolutely understand what he’s saying if you watched the team for any amount of time in that era.

I don’t know how many people watching this aren’t either American or live in America, but Donovan not going in 2014 would be like Ronaldo not going with Portugal to Qatar. Like yeah he’s not where he used to be but he’s a leader, the most experienced, has played in multiple world cups and can help the team. But instead they brought wondolowski and green
  • @Jacobow
I think to landons point. How many of those players spoke out when the US didn't make the world cup? I remember Jermaine Jones criticizing the group and showing he cares. You should want players who will care after they retire and will support the team in future world cups.
  • Hearing them talk about their Pride playing for the USA compared to the Women's team like Rapinoe and Morgan and their disrespect.....that's why they faced that appropriate backlash....Thank you men's team legends for explaining what it's ALL about!
  • Totally get what Landon was saying. Are you available for the friendlies..the gold cup or are you just showing up during the World Cup cycle so you can say you went. It’s a fighting spirit the USA team has that comes from really wanting to play for the badge. Win or lose I want that spirit throughout the team.
  • @kb5509
You can absolutely tell when players care less. It's even obvious to fans.
  • @Hollow4O1
Please have Jermaine Jones if you can, it would be a very interesting interview.
  • @sswinney
I was so disappointed Landon wasn't on the 2014. The legend deserved a roster spot on bench at minimum.
