It's crazy this guy was visibly drunk this entire episode.

The Staff deserved Gordon Ramsey's help, not Ginger and Phillip cause they didn't care
  • I don't like how they made Ginger a victim. She's a piece of crap too. When Gordon had the team meeting in the bedroom after the black light showing he said that Philip blamed the staff. No. Philip AND GINGER blamed the staff.

YOO the comment about the food being ready for one of Philip's girlfriends... "no teeth" IM DEAD 🤣🤣🤣

The problem isn't the staff it's the ownership 😂

Hotel closed & was turned into apartments. Most alcoholics relapse after treatment, unfortunately.

3 years after this episode the hotel was sold and it became an apartment complex and a restaurant called Grant's. The bartender at the Monticello, Grant Hadler opened Grant's restaurant. Sadly he was found dead on a street and a town resident was charged with his killing.

"I was 8, I remember all the cocktail waitresses, and, how beautiful they were, and, wanted to be a part of it" solid inspiration to purchase an entire hotel and employ an entire team without knowing how to do it

“I feel nervous cooking for Gordon” man ANYONE would fear their life if they cooked for him
  • @cptspeeed4751
I can’t believe that he is a decent human being if he isn’t drunk. That guy feels like a freaking narcissist.

The employees deserve so much better. It is disgusting how Phillip and Ginger project their faults on their hard working staff
  • @austin5019
What a shame that Phillip and Ginger treated their employees like crap and neglected that nice building. Good on Gordon for being able to help turn it around. Hope things are still better now.

I really just can't understand how people believe others are the problem when it's clearly them...
  • @Windwalker88
I see Cypher got out of the matrix and started a hotel
  • @MrDedvalson
Alcoholics are the most selfish people on earth. Phillip is disgusting. I have no idea why the staff puts up with him.

I remember when this happened. Was a big deal in our little sister towns. Its crazy that he said its "voted one of Americans prettiest towns" though. I know we got put in Forbes a long time ago, for the old west side neighborhood and lake Sacajawea but its not a pretty town lol There's a lot of crime, meth, and heroin. Lots of homeless. Actually, even the Monticello hotel is surrounded by smaller "drug hotels". Like how Gordon mentions the "crappy hotel" next door. The only people that live in and stay in those places are heroin and meth addicts. The Monticello is still open. I believe its the oldest building and one of the original buildings in Longview. It truly is a historic gem. Idk if its under new ownership, but its definitely doing better than it was during the time this episode was filmed. They hold dinner events there and parties and stuff, all the time. But ya, its a pretty rough town.
