Ironically, this is why I like the Fate route so much. Saber who's all about idealistic honor to a fault, gets essentially gets punished for trusting Kiritsugu during the 4th Holy Grail War. So when she returns for the 5th Holy Grail War, she gets like the biggest emotional whiplash. She jumps from having the least trusting master to the most trusting master within the span of 2 wars. So much so that Shirou treats her like a genuine friend eventhough Saber thinks he shouldn't have to. Its kinda funny. When Saber first shows up in the 5th war, she's in no rush to reveal her identity. Playing things close to her chest. But here comes Shirou, a man who straight up wants her to win her dream and only stops once he realizes that 1, he doesn't want her to leave and 2, he finds out the grail was just a weapon anyway. I don't know, I just think its funny but also kinda beautiful.
