2018 Mazda6 Signature Review vs Toyota Camry and Honda Accord

Published 2018-07-23
The new 2018 Mazda6 Signature brings a new level of sophistication to Mazda's mid-size sedan. Price as tested: $36,140 including destination. In this review we test the 0-60 time, check the brakes, kick the tires (metaphorically) and try out all the new and updated features. Engine is a 2.5-liter turbo (227hp, 310tq) with a 6-speed automatic powering the front wheels.

You can find old videos from 1986 calling Mazda the "Oriental BMW."
  • First, the Mazda 6 2018 Signature has EVERYTHING the Cadillac CT6 has for less cost....$52000 less! The one untruth is the mpg in the city. I get only 19 mpg because of the turbo.

IMO, red lighting on the gauges looks better, more sporty, and easier on the eyes at night than any other colour.

The leather in the Mazda is almost as supple as my thighs

In the end, is the upgraded/uprated trims really worth the extra coin?...Sport v GT; Touring v Reserve/Signature?...Do the new interior appointments (and new turbo engine) elevate the ownership experience (enough) despite all having the same infotainment systems and same auto trans (Sport has 6spg manual)...is there enough diff in the 20% that changes btwn the trims to go to the next trim?...I'm a manual guy, so Sport trim for me (wish they kept it in the Touring) so I won't get much choice (currently have a cx-5)...Accord sport 1.5t or Civic Si?

I've heard reviewers complain that they felt the rearview camera was very low resolution and low quality, thoughts on that?

Mazda killed the competition as usual. Camry the taxi car still looks for baby boomers so does the Accord. The Accord! the usual car your neighborhood dentist drives 😂😂😂

I'm not happy that, to get the added features, you have to get a more expensive engine that uses more gas. They should offer it in both turbo (as they used to in the Speed versions) and naturally-aspirated.

near luxury market are you crazy? Mazda is near premium at most (and I fkin love the brand)

If only mazda would manufacture larger vehicles

The infotainment on the accord is superior in every way.

The 0-60 time really poor for a turbo. I believe the fault is the cheap tires and AWD. To much torque for FWD car
