By some strange coincidence, I watched a classic DW that was on because I loved Tom Baker and I watched that two weeks ago. Now, I see Pyramids of Mars is the actual new bad guy with this Doctor!! So crazy how that happened.

i love how the doctor and kate had moment where she hugged because she knew he wasnt okay and was scared to meet his granddaughter and how much it would hurt him. and i love how kate looked at the doctor when ruby asked why cant the doctor know his own granddaughter and how she just let the doctor explain regeneration.

Gabriel Woolf. 91 years old. Original voice of Sutekh in The Pyramids of Mars with Tom Baker, and 49 years later, he’s reprising his role here. He was also the voice of The Beast in The Impossible Planet/ The Satan Pit (Carla Sunday references this in-episode). He’s also done a lot of voice-work for Big Finish. A true gift for all Whovians.
  • The Doctor says that timelords change their faces to hide themselves away. A couple of minutes later, Mrs Flood says she's been hiding herself away.

Susan was doing the Theresa May robot dance - more frightening than Sutekh! Great reaction - cannot wait for next week! 💜💜➕🌈🟦

I grew up with classic Who, the reveal of Sutekh was incredible!! Easily best episode in years

When I was about 7/8, and was getting into Doctor Who as a kid with the revival, I distinctly remember the first episode of Classic Who I watched thru borrowing the DVD/VHS from the library, was Pyramids of Mars with the Fourth Doc and Sarah Jane, and Sutekh was the villain. So to see Sutekh in full modern glory was pretty awesome for me!
  • Sutekh is a villain from Classic Who from a Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) story called "Pyramids of Mars" and is considered one of the most popular villIains in Dr. Who history and well as one of the most popular stories.

For some context Sutekh was an old enemy the Doctor faced before as his fourth incarnation (Tom Baker) with Sarah Jane Smith and they managed to seal him away in a never ending time tunnel but I don't know how he got onto the TARDIS

Good luck for the thing you have to do Katie, I hope it goes well/went well
  • @joebowers6554
When you said you thought the Beast had returned it not surprising you would come to that conclusion as both that and Sutekh are voiced by the same voice actor: Gabriel Woolf.

Was very happy hearing my hometown in doctor who! Im from Tameside in Manchester, same as ruby😂 not the loveliest place, weird hearing it on this of all things

The dance Susan Twist does at the start of her speech is a parody of a similarly embarrassing dance Theresa May (former Prime Minister in real life) did at a political rally - if you turn subtitles on for this episode, it specifically mentions May, which is hilarious.
  • @SeeJay81
Doctor: Why was she pointing at me? Katie: You're beautiful and amazing! logical conclusion: Katie is the hooded person and Ruby's mother.

5:24 I was still using VHS in 2004 to record Doctor Who off the telly ... 9:04 Kate foreshadows Kate
