Imagine being sakura, getting put on a team with prodigies and spending ur formative years being useless, then after working your ass off for years and achieving feats only two others have ever managed (byakuya seal) and finally feeling like youve caught up to those two demigods, only for literal jesus to show up and give them divine powers, rocketing them right past you once again to heights you will never reach. That’s gotta be so frustrating 😭

I really REALLY agree with Nick about Kabuto getting off so easy, i always thought it was a flaw in the plot how easy it was for everyone to just forgive both Kabuto and Orochimaru for being mass murderers. It really bugs me lol
  • @DJchilcott
I agree with you on Danzo on almost every point but one. He cannot be held solely responsible for Naruto's horrible childhood. Unless he used some sort of all encompassing genjutsu, most of the blame lies on all of the adults of the village. Did none of them have the emotional maturity to think, "Yes, maybe the demon fox that caused us such suffering is now within that child, but, it's a child! It cannot be held responsible for this. That's insane!"

One of my favorite fanfics ever also pointed out that Sakura is very noticeably the only member of the original ninja class that doesn’t have a birthright to a clan. She’s the first ninja in her family to our knowledge.
  • Karin is the one of most tragic Naruto characters ever. - She lost her mom to the Grass village. - Karin was used as a healing sourve throughout her childhood. - Karin was stabbed and betrayed by MS Sasuke to kill Danzō. - Karin got rejected by Sasuke for Sakura.

another problem for Kaguya is the lack of foreshadowing about her. Like if we had any indication she was a thing before she shows up it would have just been so much better.
  • @maravreloaded
The biggest problem of Sakura is the Sasuke-kun complex a.k.a what I like to call The "Uchiha Pheromones". Uchihas, specially Sasuke have this passive ability to infatuate any living being with vagina at one kilometre around. And so they can't hurt him and he turns them into housewives with no will of their own. Yeah. Eida's ability is just a weaker version of the Uchiha Pheromones Jutsu.

My dislike for Sakura gradually transitioned to just being annoyed at Kishimoto.

I'm not mad about Sakura failing to kill Sasuke. What i'm mad about is afterwards, during the war arc, she still has feelings for him. Girl, she almost killed you twice, stated he was going to destroy the Leaf and kill the other member of your team. Yes he came to help, but after he stated he was going to kill the Raikage bring forth a revolution, and then knocked you out. HOW OR WHY DO YOU STILL LOVE HIM!?

“Nagato’s ideology wasn’t correct” idk man kind of seems like all of the ninja villages banded together to fight an incredibly powerful threat and experienced a lot of shared pain and loss during the 4th shinobi war and through that shared pain and loss peace between the nations was formed. That was kind of nagatos whole plan
  • @baronroy2012
Just to solidify the Obito - Nagato comparison, right after his Talk no Jutsu session Obito tried sacrificing himself to revive everyone. Had Madara not hijacked it then he would've gone out trying to fix things right then and there like Nagato did. Him lingering around was definitely not a plan of his, but since he was dying anyways he opted to contribute as much as he could towards stopping Madara and Kaguya, and cleaning the mess he helped make.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I never actually hated Sakura, I actually really liked her. I was just very disappointed by how underutilized she was. But I don't really blame her for it, I chuck that up to Kishimoto's lack of skills when it comes to portraying female characters.
  • @taylormadealpha
If Sakura is on another team, she might not have been pushed to find her own Sannin to train with. She worked up the nerve to ask Tsunade to be her mastwr bc she wanted to be on par w Naruto and Sasuke. Her teammates.
  • @treysavage4570
Sasuke wanting to destroy konoha actually made sense. He learned that the leaders of Konoha gave Itach the mission to destroy his entire clan. Sasuke is looking at it from the point of view that itachi was forced to kill the uchihas. I would have had the same change in mindset.
  • @stevenkirkman601
I think a major part of Obito that gets overlooked is how much potential he had in the vision where, if things had gone differently, he'd become one of the strongest and most beloved hokage of the hidden leaf's history. The Uchiha massacre would have never happened, but also the nine-tailed fox wouldn't have attacked the leaf village, either, so who knows what would have happened with Sasuke and Naruto. All this potential for such a pivotal character turned into a villain is why I'll always appreciate his character, despite its flaws.

The thing about hated characters is there are multiple categories of hate. 1. Basic hate over cannon actions. This is for Itatchi & Danzo, antagonists being good antagonists who we are meant to dislike as people, but love them for their role in the story. 2. Annoying characters, a characters actions are fictional but our emotional response to them is real. If a character is annoying or causes the audience second hand embarrassment then we hate them for the ultimate sin in literature. (And any similar emotions) 3. Wasted potential, this really should be hate but often the frustration becomes hate. Sakura is "useless" and rarely trains on camera to get better, she also was stated to have lots of potential early in the story, and yet she's always behind the boys and has very few good cannon fights/feats. 4. Active detriments to the story. This is where Kaguya and Black Zetsu are, in theory they are interesting characters, but from a meta level they were retcons undermining the agency of everyone prior in series and only exist to set up Boruto. I would say Kaguya nuked the power scaling but that happened halfway through Shippuden. (If they were planned from the beginning then they could have been foreshadowed, which is one of the most important things for a plot twist)
  • @twelfthknight
Eh, you can't just make a character a secret puppet master out of nothing. The reason such mastermind characters work is you can piece together their actions in retrospect and see how they work to reach their eventual goal upon review, but in Black Zetsu's case we were simply told that those actions happened and how important the character was after their surprise reveal. A murder mystery where the author had no idea who their culprit was going to be until the last chapter is not going to be satisfactory in the least, I don't care what motivations you give the murderer. If you want an example of the basic idea done well, then there's Father from Fullmetal Alchemist.
  • @marcel6445
Kaguya- I feel like Kaguya wouldn’t have been nearly as bad if he were somehow able to rewrite the entire story from the beginning. Make it so that it’s a point for the characters to learn how chakra and the spread of ninshu originated close to the start of the series. So we at least know she even exists and that her existence is important from the jump, despite not appearing till the series climax. Zetsu- shoulda just kept him as the incarnate of Madara’s will. Lol
