Publicado 2024-08-26
There are many good reasons to start a Youtube channel. I believe that seniors and retirees might benefit the most from having a Youtube channel.

In this video, I share four reasons why I think every retiree should have a Youtube channel today.

My wife told me I should start a YouTube she says you watch enough on YouTube. I told her that sounds a lot like work. And I don't want to work no more I want to do what I want to do when I want to do it.

Steve, all of your videos are really great, but THIS video, especially the last half episode of the video, was really great! I will add that I wish I had taken the time to video my Mexican mom cooking…making homemade tortillas, Mexican rice & beans, etc and especially her potato salad. It didn’t have a Mexican twist to it at all. It was just really good! Even when I’m with friends and the conversation turns reminiscent of the “old days”, my mom’s potato salad always comes up. My friends miss her and her recipe just as I do. I regret not recording her making it. Thanks again for a great video!

Thanks Steve, I like the idea of starting a Private Channel just for Family. Documenting Travels and Creating a Family History Video for our Kids and Grandkids. A Video Diary, I’m calling it Life in the Slow Lane.🙂

You must be the most kind, considerate, and compassionate personality on YouTube. Very Buddhist vibe. Wishing you and Jim the best, always.

Wow Steve that was an incredible video! How true you are! I discovered your channel way back when you were filming your mom and you were filming her journey . At this time my husband was in hospice care and I needed a kind distraction. I instantly was hooked! I wish I could express how your kindness comforted me at that time ❤. It was a reminder that I was not the only one going through that and it was a part of our own journey! Thank you is far from the gratitude hat I have! With all of that being said, I am giving some thought to start filming myself. My family is always encouraging me to start a channel but I feel I don't have anything interesting to say. I will definitely give it some serious thought. Love to you, Mason and Jim ❤❤😊

I really loved how you said to make a YouTube channel as a gift Steve. That really resonated with me! I have 3 grown daughters and 3 young grandchildren and it might be nice to video some self interviews and also stories about their grandparents and great grandparents. Once the older generations are gone so are their stories. Terrific video as always!! 😊 Joan

Hi Steve 👋I’ll leave YouTube up to you. I enjoy watching your channels. 😃👍

Great subject Steve! I was so happy I asked my grandparents about their lives in Poland before, during and after WW2.
  • Thanks Steve, the push that I needed as I’ve procrastinated for some time now. I had the name, the channel and the content, just didn’t put it together. Keith

Hi Steve, so true! I wish I had asked my family all these questions I have. But now they are all gone and I have nobody left to ask.

Your channel is one of the few that I allow the commercials run through. It is refreshing to listen and learn from your sharings without all the requests for donations. I did a Patreon once for a channel I really liked, but just didn't have the time to watch all the extra videos. I did look for a Paypal link when your phone stopped working. Creating a private channel for Family and Friends is a great idea.

Steve, that is great…oh how I would love to hear my wife, mom and dad, grandparents, etc. again. Will have to give this serious consideration.

I think I would have enjoyed having a channel, but as an invalid, I have very few days a week where I could, so it would not work for me...but watching you sure does make me happy!
  • @Atheenah
I’m too shy to put myself on video but I am intrigued by the idea! 😂

I love your insights into how YT works. I paid close attention. ❤️✌🏼 When I start mine up, next year, it will be mainly for my family. I will have tutorials in scrapbooking. In the 1990’s, I was a professional scrapbooker. Been published several times, in craft magazines. My main love is genealogy. I will share how I gather and share family history with siblings and extended family. I’ll also have paper crafting and probably some travel, too. Haven’t seen it up, yet… need to get my art studio complete and then, I’ll get to it. Again, love your videos! Hope y’all have a great week!

You got me thinking and I am intrigued. Thanks for the tips Steve, I love your other channel too.

That is such a great idea to start a YouTube channel for your family!!!!

Wow Steve, you’ve really got me thinking now about doing a channel. I have a lot that would maybe help my future grandkids know where I came from. We’re also getting ready to build our retirement home. Maybe I can film that and record the journey.
