Reform UK leader, Nigel Farage, wins in Clacton - with the Conservatives in second place.

It is his eighth attempt to become a member of UK parliament, after failing seven times before.

Farage is the second Reform UK candidate to win, after Lee Anderson took Ashfield earlier.

Labour has won a landslide victory in the UK general election, according to the exit poll, meaning Keir Starmer will be the new prime minister.

Even though I'm centre left, I don't resent Nigel winning a seat. Reform should have a voice given the votes they got nationally.

Is it weird that I miss Lord Buckethead and his wisdom?
  • You made a mistake BBC, shoulda stayed neutral and stuck to factual news 😁
  • I'd be intrigued to know the actual numbers of votes. I have a feeling that if the resistant Tory voters had joined Reform then Nigel would be PM not just MP
  • @Novella47
Reform had 14℅ of the votes but only 5 seats... What the hell is going on there.
  • Make this your talking point for the next 5 years: Labour got 63% of the seats with only 33% of the votes. Reform got 0.8% of the seats with 14% of the votes. The system needs: REFORM. 33% = coalition government, not thumping majority

'... coming after Labour'. 😂😂😂Reform doesn't even have as many seats as independent candidates.
