After announcing he would not seek reelection, President Joe Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic nominee for President.

Harris, who previously served as a U.S. Senator from California before becoming vice president in 2021, would be the first woman of color to lead the presidential ticket for a major political party. And, if elected to the presidency in November, Harris would become the first woman — and first Asian-American person — to hold the nation’s highest office.
