On today's episode of Star Wars Factions Compared we look at the Dumbest Capital Ship!

Today we're comparing the First Order Mandator IV Dreadnought, The Galactic Alliance MC140 Mon Calamari Cruiser, the Empire's Sun Crusher, and some weird jedi sailing ship idk.

the sun crusher is THAT kid from everyone's childhood. The i have all the super powers kid. "Oh yeah well I can blow up suns and go into hyperspace and also my armor is invincible""
  • The worst ship should be a tie between Reylo and Ashoka-Anakin honestly. Wait not that kind of ship?
  • Star Wars: A flying pirate ship. Me: this is what happens when you put 4 year olds in charge of making a new ship
  • With the Fairwind it does just look like someone started drawing a Treasure Planet comic, decided it should be Star Wars halfway through and was too lazy to redraw the ship
  • I really feel like the Scythe was a slap in the face to Mon Cal ship builders of the past. MC90 was an incredible boat
  • The Scythe: Galaxy's most excessive starfighter.
  • Sorry for the weird editing issue with the intro and the dreadnought picture lmao. Must’ve messed something up during the render.
  • Sun Crusher's design: Does and doesn't work Mandator IV's design: A true space faring pizza slice MC-140's design: TENNOHEIKA BANZAI Fairwind's design: Why... Just why?
  • @joeyk107
Haha eckhartsladder's classic intro FIRST ORDER DREADNOUGHT
  • @Yora21
The Fairwind is crewed by satyrs and harpies? Are you sure that's a Star Wars comic?
  • 5:20 what I think they were trying to go for was a Star Wars equivalent to a ww2 tank destroyer. Essentially they were tanks based on existing tank chassis but rather than having a gun on a rotating turret they instead remove the turret entirely and have a much larger gun sticking out of the hull
  • I actually really like the Scythe's design. Not every ship in a fleet should be a balanced do-all ship, it's cool that there could be some ships that are just bloody brilliant at one specific task. The purpose of the scythe seems to be just overwhelming firepower on a single target, so I'd imagine a handful of these would be unmatched in their ability to efficiently take down a large dreadnought. Of course they'd need an escort fleet, but as the Bismarck proved, NEVER leave your ship to fight alone.
  • Empire: uses poorly designed tie fighters Also Empire: Sun crusher go woosh
  • I swear, the Fairweather makes me wanna run around the ship and look for Lord Nelson
  • I've always thought that The Last Jedi's Mandator IV is either a prototype or an unfinished ship rushed into service because the few complete Mandators were busy assaulting the New Republic. That would explain the unfinished look and relative lack of anti-fighter weapons (more were to be installed later). Then again, it's not like it's a ship that you'd deploy without an escort, it has fantastic range, and it seems to be pretty durable - the Resistance dropped literally 1,000 proton bombs on a specific weak spot they had identified from its blueprints (presumably to breach the reactor) and whole chunks of it survived with functional life support (as shown in Season 2 of the Resistance show). And it has a fighter wing. So it's not like it's at risk of a single Y-wing flying over and taking it out - several things had to go wrong for Fulminatrix to go down. Combined with its incredible offensive potential (its cannons can clearly slaughter Lucrehulks, space stations, Star Destroyers and MC cruisers from long range, in addition to ground targets) and it definitely has a role in its fleet that it performs well. And I think it's cool to see an on-screen Star Wars capital ship in a different niche than "battleship that's also a carrier" or "super-dreadnought." I've never understood the raw disdain people have for it.
  • Who the hell said “yes” to the Fairwind?! The ship looks ridiculous in this universe!
  • The only weakness of the Suncrusher is that it always gets flagged by Youtube copyright for using Resonance torpedos
