  • Today I'm having a cozy chat about the animal-themed books I've enjoyed in the month of May -- in particular, Thomasina by Paul Gallico. Have you read Thomasina, or another book by Paul Gallico? If so please do share your thoughts in the comments below! Also share what you're looking forward to reading as we approach the month of June! And a big thank you to those who did read along with me! Have a great weekend. 😊
  • Just got my copy of “ Thomasina”. Now I want the Herriot books. Thanks for all the inspiration and inspiration. Your videos are the best !

Hi Celeste, I love the James Herriot books and also have all the children’s picture books that I used to read with my school children. By the way, all those children’s stories are just out of the larger books and are not changed at all for the picture books. They are just set with pictures and we all love that. I am so happy that I lave all the original and individual picture books which is a great way to read them . ❤❤❤😊 Thank you.😊

Lovely video as always Celeste! Oh, now I really want to read Thomasina! I have a bad case of book envy with that version of yours! I agree with you wholeheartedly about James Herriot. We have that same version of the children's stories, and we whip them out now and then and read a few. That was the perfect way to describe James Herriot's humor. Have a great weekend! We are heading down to New Jersey this weekend (for a monster truck show of all things lol! My son is crazy into them). 💛
  • I've read the first two collections of the James Herriot memoirs (All Creatures Great and Small and All Things Bright and Beautiful) and adored them. I can't wait to continue reading through the rest in the series. I need to read the Treasury! Charlotte's Web is such a precious story! I've never heard of Thomasina. It sounds charming. I didn't realize it was written by the same author of Mrs. Arris Goes to Paris (which I also really want to read).

I just purchased Sipsworth! I haven't started it yet, but it intrigued me. I bought The Eyes & The Impossible based solely on a very enthusiastic recommendation from an bookseller and his wife. I love Charlotte's Web. If you and your son read it, I hope you'll share your experience. You've convinced me to read Thomasina. I did not realize that it was written by the same author as Mrs. 'Arris Goes To Paris (which I loved). I particularly loved the adaptation with Angela Lansbury.

Hi again Celeste, I too love the Paul Gallico books and look forward to my copy of Thomasina. About the Romany people in the books, in the James Herriot books he gives them fairer treatment and respect as he treats their animals and the poor man is so serious about paying his bill, and in the Thruh Green series by Miss Read some of their carny folk become regular characters throughout that series. So they both give the Romany people good treatment I feel. That is so interesting. 😊
