Lyrics:
Yeah, the night's not over, you're not trying hard enough
Our lives are changing lanes, you ran me off the road
The wait is over, I'm now taking over
You're no longer laughing, I'm not drowning fast enough

Loded Diper really changed their style
-
The Strokes are one of those bands that really make you want to start your own
-
he sounds so sleepy yet so energized
-
Is incredible how every riff of the strokes is perfect
-
Everybody is talking about Julian but nobody seems to appreciate just how fucking on-point the bass is in this song.
-
That guitar riff is incredible
-
August 2024 anyone?
-
I love how Nikolai's bass is so distinctive

Holy sh*t y'all, I've had this song in my head for literal months, but only the opening part, absolutely none of the lyrics so I couldn't google it (it was just the intro dunun du du dun repeating guitar riff) but the only place I've ever heard this song was in a music history class my freshman year of high school (so like 2017), and I was so desperate to find out what song it was I emailed that teacher, and even he wasn't sure what song it was, but I told him that it was rock music and that the artist was male (I also vaguely remembered something about it reminded me of lizards, but my brain makes really weird connections and associations so this was not considered a vital piece of information), so he told me a few artists that we studied that fit the criteria, but when each artist has possibly hundreds of songs it was impossible to narrow it down enough to even entertain the idea of finding it, so I gave up. It's a few weeks later now, I'm supposed to be asleep, but I was just thinking about lizards, idk why I just like lizards, and somehow the word reptilia floated into focus just enough for me to, without meaning to, go "hey thats a song title" which I literally have no clue how I even remembered that, but oh my god was it the fastest I've ever gotten out of bed. I'd consider this the most important revelation I've had during quarantine. I absolutely cannot believe I found this song. Edit: Mom I'm famous

This song really got picsmics through the worst times of his life
-
oh excellent... good song, good singer, good good good.
-
Rodrick if he actually graduated school and became a rockstar sensation.
-
I love how Julian just stares into the camera without blinking. It's part of what makes this video so iconic
-
Love the lyrics where he says “it’s reptilian time”
-
oh excellent... good song, good play, good good good.
-
Something about Julian’s face while he says “tell us the story” is just so satisfying
-
So that's why Alex wanted to be one of The Strokes.

[LYRICS] He seemed impressed by the way you came in "Tell us a story, I know you're not boring" I was afraid that you would not insist "You sound so sleepy, just take this, now leave me" I said, please don't slow me down if I'm going too fast You're in a strange part of our town Yeah, the night's not over, you're not trying hard enough Our lives are changing lanes, you ran me off the road The wait is over, I'm now taking over You're no longer laughing, I'm not drowning fast enough Now every time that I look at myself "I thought I told you, this world is not for you" The room is on fire as she's fixing her hair "You sound so angry, just calm down, you found me" I said please don't slow me down if I'm going too fast You're in a strange part of our town Yeah, the night's not over, you're not trying hard enough Our lives are changing lanes, you ran me off the road The wait is over, I'm now taking over You're no longer laughing, I'm not drowning fast enough
