Target only acts when the story hits the news. That’s not a business I will support.
-
We need to go back to just giving cold hard cash
-
It's sad when these big box chains won't do the right thing until they are exposed on national TV
-
A $66.33 billion company getting publicly embarrassed over $200. Yeah someone is getting fired over this.
-
The gift cards should be kept behind the registers to prevent scammers from accessing them.
-
No one should feel forced to contact their local media for help in a situation like this. Corporations should always do the right thing. Never buy gift cards that are accessible to the public to be tampered with.
-
Looks like Target needs to be embarrassed on a big level before they will help their honest customers. Wouldn't it be nice if they just wanted to help their loyal honest customers out of the kindness of their heart?
-
Never purchase those. The stores that allow those to be sold there should be held responsible.

Shocker, a corporate entity that doesn't want to refund money suddenly changes their mind when the news gets involved?! Who woulda thunk it! For real though, F whoever messed with the card and F Target for giving these folks the runaround until they were called on their BS.

He’s a good Dad. He advocated for his sons when they got ripped off. He might feel like it wasn’t a great Father’s Day, but he taught his sons a lesson about how to stand up for yourself. No wonder they tried to give him a nice gift. No doubt he’s gone all out for them many times.

TARGET has had a PR nightmare the last few years

Oh look, it's the same gift card crime that's been reported on for YEARS. Such a shame that in all these years none of these damn stores have bothered to lock up the gift cards. 😡
-
I've noticed that businesses are becoming increasingly adept at screwing the customer by giving them the runaround.

Retailers should be responsible. Without that burden, the retailer could be involved with no culpability.

This really ticks me off and for me it’s mostly the vanilla gift cards that get hacked. My daughter is autistic and she doesn’t like going out so Christmas and birthdays she gets gift cards. But she will go to activate the card and there is no balance. People suck

Give them the refund and glass case the gift card display. Better to spend a little for security and keep customers than have complaints posted and put on the news. Locked cases are becoming more necessary in this society. Sad.

Need to do like Costco. Samples out for the customer to take to the register and give them the actual gift card at the till or some sort of vending machine.
-
Gift cards are too susceptible to criminals being out in the open...too shady to buy anymore....
-
Full refund? Good I should hope so.Why should it take a news channel intervention though. Shame on Target!!

Don't buy gift cards. Period.
