Someone from the Pepsi team watched Matβs failed attempts of bagging a Diet Coke sponsorship and then reached out saying, β hey we got you, weβre the cooler soda anyway β. This is indirectly an ad for Pepsi
-
I would be curious to see The Food Theorists do an episode regarding 3 square meals a day and how we only do so per tradition. Interesting to see if they come up with an optimum number of meals to eat in a day.

It is insane how on point mat pat caught this one. I literally love this new logo design as a gen z-er for the exact reasons he's pointing out
-
When you showed the logo I literally said out loud βoh it looks like the old logo, I like the nostalgiaβ and then when you dove deeper into it I felt personally attacked π
-
For a brand associated with Coca Cola a lot itβs surprising thereβs more Pepsi related videos rather then coke ones
-
As a graphic designer, I quite like this episode. It shows how much thought goes into something that is simple.

As a Gen Z and a nostalgia nerd, I totally love this new Logo! I don't care about the sugar content of soda that much, when I drink soda, I drink it to drink something sweet, but I try to avoid them most of time for health reasons, so that logo looks very attractive π HoneyComb cereal needs to do something similar, AND BRING BACK THE STRAWBERRY COMB

I think the new logo is an upgrade in a lot of ways, not sure why anybody would be upset by it. Although I do agree its too big on the cans .

We live in a time where logos are getting simpler and subsequently less eye-catching. This is refreshing, and I hope that this sparks a new era of logo design. An era where logo artists can have fun with designs and not a company name with a shape next to it.

From an artists pov, I love how Pepsi is thinking about this and actually taking into consideration what their audience wants. Also love the editing from the Theory team, Keep up the great work!!

Growing up in the 80's a lot of places still had the Pepsi logo with the name in the middle. Just because it wasn't on the actual can, doesn't mean we didn't see the 1971 version on soda machines, in restaurants, and gas stations. So it's not just nostalgic for being super old, because it was still around for years.

Food theory idea: the cannibalism of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Itβs like whenever they taste the cinnamon powder they want to eat eachother π€

A logo that isn't boring, flat, and like everything else? That's a good logo!
-
matpat really seems like the kinda guy to struggle to finish a joke because he keeps laughing at it πππ
-
Thank you for everything, MatPat

Another thing I took note of is that a solid method of βclickbaitβ that Pepsi is engaging in is the fact that theyβre even changing the logo at all. Iβve now spend 15 minutes thinking about Pepsi when I probably havenβt given Pepsi a thought in probably 8-9 years.

That's definitely my favourite video of this channel lately. Being a business student, but also being obsessed with marketing and advertising, I did try to figure out their ideas for a new logo, especially after the disaster that the previous one was. Nostalgia is the absolute key word for this one, and you nailed it straight on! It's bright, bold, big and eye catching, while also being super familiar and relatable. It's new, but harkens back to a simple era! Incredible breakdown of all this! :D

At the beginning of the video I was thinking "What's wrong with it? I actually like it. It's not bland and modernistic. I like the older aesthetic of it." Then when you literally started explaining as to why gen z would like it, you it hit it right on the nail for me.
-
I would only start drinking Pepsi if they brought back my boy Pepsi-man

I think the biggest thing about these new logos is how it affects people with eye troubles or dyslexia like me I GENUINELY can't read that font and it infuriates me as a fellow young graphic designer that this it what companies think we want, trust me, we NEVER want stuff like that
